Hey Guys this might of already been covered, but here it is. I went out to run my 21bb today and the pull start cord pulled out without turning the motor over. come to find out, the backplate screws had loosened up from the block! After taking the pullstart off and taking the backplate screws off, there was no locktite on them. So if you run into this problem, locktitie the screws when you retighten them and it works great Steve

Speaking of loctite, check to see if your second gear adjustment screw has any on it. That little bugger will back itself out and it won't shift, then it won't roll backwards and then it just becomes a pain in the butt. There has been several threads about the tranny screw and it's lack of loctite, just do a search on "savage adjustment and loctite" I think that will get ya started.

Blue is OK, green is best, and never use red unless you never plan on taking it apart.
