So, my Revo made this funny sounding noise. Sounded alot like a steel gear digesting plastic. So I begin to disect the beast, and I find that in it's belly, there are many plastic shards where there should be gears. Seems as if I've tightened the slipper a bit too much and that tends to make the tranny hungry. So, it's rebuild time.

I must admit that only having a parts explosion to referer to is more than my little brain can grasp. After two days of fretting, I am finally able to tighten the screws that hold the tranny halves together. Now to the problem.

After reassembly of the transmission, the 3rd channel seems to be reversed. FWD makes the truck go backwards, and putting the vehicle in 'reverse' makes the seemingly possesed beast go forward. I've corrected this by reversing channel 3's servo. I feel howerver, that I've put the tranny together incorrectly.

Cany anyone shed light on what I've done wrong?

i rebuilt mine a few weeks ago, the output gear got chewed up. from the way i remember it, i dont think you can put it back together wrong. if it wasn't perfect, then you can't put the two halves back together. maybe you shorted your servo or something to make it switch, but i wouldnt blame it on you tranny. another reason i say this is because of the way the reverse and foward work. that little engager thing switches to each gear.

let me ask you this - when its in reverse (originally) was that little pin IN or OUT? it ~should~ be out.

Hmmm... I dont recall. Now, in is fwd, and out is rev. But.. I had to reverse my server to get the red thumb switch to move the servo the correct way.

No matter, as I'll be getting a FOC soon.

You'll want that FOC sooner than later! BTW, you didn't remove a dif did you? The difs are marked with ^up on them.

I had been experencing trouble with my tranny eating gears. The more experenced drivers at my local track suggested that I install the Forward Only Conversion. I've done so, and now my Revo only goes in reverse!

What the heck?!!?

You should only post one question per thread, you have this ? going on the other thread so stick with that one. Just a little friendly advice. I posted something to look at over there too.
