Here I have been thinking Colombian Pride 3 is out of commission because of a bum radio receiver but low and behold the receiver worked fine. JR TX and Futaba RX are not compatable. Personally I think thats a crock of poop!

I mean no matter what brand radio I buy for voice communications I can talk to any other radio out there on that frequency. I may not have all the bells and whistles associated with my particular RX/TX because they are incompatable with other radios out there but still standard commication is able to be made.

Why should our rc's be any different? You can look at several radios that say some of their bells and whistles are not compatable with other systems but channel a channel 71 tx and a channel 71 rx should be able to communicate regardless of the name brand on each other. Granted some things like programming servos and so forth could require the same name brand but standard TX/RX should have no problems.

Sorry I am venting my disgust on this topic. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Well.. if it helps thanks for letting me know...

I have a savage, and the HPI radio I got with it was smuked. I put the TX crystal in the traxxas TQ and it works.

So the stock HPI savage X is compatible with the stock traxxas TX.. I havent tryed the other way around, but I will for general info.

The traxxas crystals also work for the HPI reciever as well.

I'm glad you let me have alittle insight, otherwise I would have just assumed all RX's and TX's were compatible. I would have been pissed if I bought a nice AM radio only to find out I had to buy Recievers for all my rigs before I could use them.

I'm assuming you did swap out crystals? Perhaps it is just a crystal issue?

I don't have spare crystals all my other stuff is either JR or synthasized. I still plan on buying another JR synthasized receiver for it anyway so I only have to cart 1 radio around for 4 rc's.

Dude are you sure it's all on the same frequencies man or even am and fm??? I dunno in your first post you state that something of the same frequcney should work with another thing of the same frequency and I frankly agree. Is there something that isn't a bit off???

I feel and understand your disgust El Pirata. I have 4 RTR from 3 different brands and i use the same Tx i just change out the crystal so i can run the truck or buggy i want. Recently however I bought a K3, a 3PK and digital servos. Now I like the 3PK and digital servos so much that my RTR feel like crap when i run them, so now feel the need to buy recivers and digital servos to put in my other 4 rc's, but that is alot of $$$$$.
