hey guys...i've been using traxxas top fuel and i have been looking for a little more economical way to go...anyone have any suggestions on some cheaper fuel that still performs well...thanks for the help

Price will probably vary on your location and just how much your LHS wants to charge.

I get Byron Race Gen2 30% for $28 a gallon here...though i have to drive an hour to get it. Better then when i was paying $12 + shipping for a quart of O'donnell Race 30% though.

Unfortunately you're pretty much stuck with what choices your LHS sells unless it's really crazy high. Shipping fuel mandates a haz-mat fee that makes it higher to buy through mail-order. Torco was the cheapest I've seen to order but you have to buy a case(4gal) at a time to get it down to around $30 a gallon.

I'm a poor boy so I go to my lhs and get what ever is the cheapest they have and tune accordingly. Currently it's Blue Thunder 20% race blend $22. A lot of people rag on Blue Thunder, maybe it's the sport blend, but it's working well for me.

I almost got Blue Thunder Race when i last went and got fuel...but it was almost $15 more then the Byron's. I'm really liking the Byron's though so ill stick with it until i can't get it anymore.

well the problem is i dont have a LHS...closest one is and hour drive and that would make up for the hazmat...i am about to order some stuff and i need fuel and there are so many to choose from...i want cheap but i don't want fuel that sux and won't perform well...mostly just want to know if there are any that i want to stay away from....thanks for the replies guys

If you have to mail order... i really like O'donnell fuel. Have used both Racing blend and RTR blend. Both are pretty similar priced. If i remember correctly.. the Racing blend has about 12% oil content, while the RTR has 18%.

You'll pay about $40-45 for 4 quarts (1 gallon) since you can't buy 1 single gallon jug, from Tower atleast.
