has anyone relocated their tank on their tmaxx?

i was thinking about moving it right in front of the shock tower on the front end. it'll keep from flipping onto the tank and breaking it. like i've done so many times before.

If you think you have broken tank problems now....put it up front and you will be crashing it into things and you will for sure be breaking them. I am not really sure there are a lot of other places to put one on the Maxx. You could try the proline tank they are a lot tougher.

it sounds like you broken several tanks before, where are they breaking? At the mounting screws ? If yes, then its probabaly not direct contact to the tank during a crash but just the weight and momemtum of the tank causing the screws points to fail. Try adding a zip tie or two to help hold it in. Kind of like a seatbelt for your gas tank.

Here's what I did....

I don't forsee any trouble here, although I have only ran a couple tanks so far. The Ofna violator tank is a very nice piece.

These pictures are before I put a new switch inside the box with a 5 cell hump and a few small changes.

hahaha i broke my proline tank the other day when i demolished my tmaxx. that was to be expected though. i have broken many tanks and the proline didnt break until it smashed it against a fire hydrant.

i was just wondering because i figured if you move it right in front of the shock tower, your tank will never touch the ground because of shock towers and the engine being taller than the tank. so no matter how or where it flips over, chances are that it wont break. just an idea.

but yeah the proline tank does good enough for me and my roll cage should keep it from being killed

Can't believe I am saying this but I agree with frickenjoey on this one up front seems like it would give u more problems then the stock location...but 2revo1maxx has a clean set up. The tank could still get bashed pretty good there too. It's gonna happen no matter where u put it. We have all Ben down that road.

yeah it sucks but i'm just trying to make it damn near bullet proof. i love this hobby, and i got the money for it, i'm just tired of only playing for 20 minutes, then breaking something and being down til i get time to drive to a hobby shop 30 minutes away. i wish they would just bring one closer to my house.

I really like the outside the box idea 2Revo had but I think I might move the tank just a touch inboard if I was do it. But bad ass idea none the less. You might wanna try that. Just make SURE the fuel pick-up is tot he rear of the truck so you pick up less air

I put the tank like that for better balance, but we'll see how she flies this spring, it might not be necessary.

I do dig the idea of it though...just never looked at it like that. I may have to reconfigure mine now....thanks, just when I thought I had it done....ass.;)

If anything just get that tank, it's far superior to the stocker, and the proline too.....I had to trim just a wee bit off the battery box for the front shaft, but hey, it works.
