  1. Bashing
i took my truck out today for a bit of a bash and wouldn't you know it... it won't start. so after checking the obvious i think i have it narrowed down to air escaping around the o-ring. my LHS doesn't have any in stock and after buying a couple of different one from a hardware shop i still can't find one that will fit. i can find the right diameter just not the right thickness. it keeps holdong the cap open. does anyone know of one that will fit or some other easy fix for it? cheers

I used one as a temp. one from a OFNA buggy. If you press hard enough it seals. I was just until i bought a new tank. The new tank was only like 12 buck. If you can't find an O-ring just buy a tank or i think they even sell just the lids for those. Not to sure if they do or not. However it would be worth looking in to.Hope this helps.

it is not a bad idea to keep extras. when i goto buy new ones i usually buy 4 or 5 if they have them. i try to keep at least 4 in my tool box all the time. after every gallon or there close i replace my o-rings. although you can tighten them up the rubbing on the tank rubs one side making it not want to seal like it should.

yeah i noticed that the ring looks like it is worn down almost flat on one side

that happened to me at the track and i just rotated the o ring to where the flat part of it was towards the top part of the lid and it worked fine. but i went ahead and bought another tank after that at the track just in case.

i have got the tank working properly again. however when i try to prime itthe fuel won't move through the line. i have cleaned and rest the needle so i am at a lostas what to do now. fuel doesn't seeem to be flowing through the carbi. any one have any ideas?

Try blowing into the pressure line from the pipe going to the fuel tank and see if fuel flows easily or at all. May narrow down problems with the tank or lines.
I couldn't start my Revo a couple weeks ago, same thing couldn't prime it. Turned out to be bad OWB.

pardon my ignorance, but how does the owb stop it from priming/drawing fuel? it also appears that having the idle set correctly may make a difference. lol

If your OWB is out, it won't turn the engine over and therefore won't draw fuel when you try to prime/start it.

the one way bearing slipping is a evil that i wish traxxas could fix. although it is a simple and easy fix. just removing the motor and removing the ez-start and cleaning the bearing with either wd 40 compressed air or even letting it sit in a cap full of old nitro that you don't use. while cleaning the bearings is necessary alot of people over look the shaft. take a lint free towel of some sort and wipe it down really good and remove all the ooze and goo. depending on how old the motor is the bearings in the back plate maybe allowing too much fuel to seep in. the one gets it lubrication from fuel that comes in around this shaft. why and how traxxas does it like this who knows. one sure way to check to see if the one way is slipping is listening. if the ez-start is winding really fast and the motor is not turning...more then likely it is slipping. when you reinstall the one way make sure the printed text on the bearing is facing the back plate of the motor if not you will be taking it all apart again to put it in right. and even would not even hurt to test the reassembly before putting the motor back in the revo.
