Quick Question, While at the Hobby Store you tend to find the employee who knows and those who think they know. However, all have made comments on proper fuel storage and of it's importance.

What is the proper way to store fuel, I would assume the worst evil would be moisture build up. I know storage Temp could play a role in the build up of condensation. Or is it not that critical?

Thanks,
Craig

I store my fuel next to the hot water heater in the garage.

but really...I have a chemical cabinet in the garage. I also tend to toss any fuel that I have not used in a while. Fuel has a tendancy to pick up mosture from the air. I do not control the temp....here in Los Angeles it goes from 40's up to 115 in the summer.

Store it where it can't build condensation. So in a dry room temp place would be good.

The best storage advice can often be found right on the bottle. In the absence of that, nitro fuel should be stored in a cool dry place away from sun light.

I store my fuel in the bottom of my tool chest/field kit. It is dark and cool, and I have had fuel stored for up to six months in there without any problems.

Best to keep it off the concrete floor. Use a thick slab of cardboard or a length of wood underneath. Extreme change in temperatures should be avoided.

The most important thing is to minimize the exposer to direct sunlight. keep it in a paper bag or something that will block the UV if it comes in a plastic bottle or if its in your field bottle.

Thanks for the advice., What does the sun light do to the fuel?
