So i was just driving my 4.6 around the track and just having some fun ( running perfectly fine)

I have and even blue trail of smoke, responsive, running about 254 or so. Doing alot of hill climbs on the track. Then some top speed runs just adjusting my transmission to the shift point i personally like. I pull it over and let it idle for about 40 seconds because i was looking for something in my tackle box and it cut out. I pick the truck up and lay it on my truck to refill ( did not die because of low fuel level) So i figure i need just alittle adjusting to do. But as I'm getting my screw driver i hear this gargling inside the filter.

I've heard this gargle before and just figure it was because the piston was still in TDC and pressure slowly releasing out while it cools.. But this time i take the filter off while its gargling and i noticed its actually sort of bubbling fuel out of the inlet of the carb.

Not sure if there is residual pressure in the gas tank causing fuel to be still flowing into the carb while the the engine is not running or what.

I've been driving nitro rc's for awhile now and surprisingly I've never had this happen to any of my past engines. How ever I've never owned an HPI before this one. The other models were traxxas.

So anyways just want everyones thoughts on this. I've searched on the forum and could find the subject. Maybe i just didnt search well enough.

Thanks for reading

Definitely sounds like your lean somewhere. Anytime fuel starts to bubble, it usually means that the fuel is getting too hot. Has the engine been sealed? How reliable is your temp gun? If you know someone near by, use theirs and see if you have a discrepancy. Just some quick thoughts that come to mind.

Yes I've sealed the engine after i bought the truck just to make sure everything is properly sealed.

Temp gun i just have a duratrax http://www.duratrax.com/accessories/nitro/dtxp3100main-2.jpg

No one in my neighborhood drives rc I'm the only one in town.

Also i checked the temp about 40 seconds after it died and it was at about 198 and slowly dropping. I dont have any cutting out or stalling just runs perfectly fine.

I mean performance wise and temperature wise the truck seems to run fine. I can't really tell if my temp gun is just bad.. or what it is.

Also it would sort of make sense it runs lean because i live at about 4000 ft altitude. so the stock needle settings are impossible to run with out the truck stalling even when trying to start up.. i run quite abit lean compared to what i would on sea level. How ever the tune i have at this altitude isnt making it run lean. I dont have any cutting out.
