Hi - Help, i am new to nitro, have just purchased a 1/10 HSP 4WD nitro monster truck "Tyrannosaurus" and am unable to get it running. When i pull the starter lead and keep finger over the exhaust the fuel starts pumping along the clear tube which leads to the exhaust. For some reason it is not pumping along the lead to the carbuerattor. I have made sure the carbuerattor is open and have tried with the air filter and without. The pipe looks unblocked, does anybody know what might be happening?

Thanks

It sounds like some lines are crossed. The fuel line from the exhaust goes to the top of the tank and the one to the carb comes from the bottom unless it goes up through a built in filter.
Plugging the exhaust and having the fuel travel to the muffler just doesn't make sense.

the fuel line to the exhaust comes from the top of the fuel tank and the fuel line to the carburettor comes from just below the top of the fuel tank. its only small amounts that feed through to the exhaust.

I purchased whilst in Malaysia and the guy had previously taken off the pull cord starter piece and he then put it back on whilst i was in store - do you think the pull starter could have been on incorrectly and would cause this problem?

When i pull the starter a few times release my finger off the exhaust i can feel alot of pressure, so maybe there is block to the carbuerattor somewhere.

Also does it matter if i have the power on when trying to pump the fuel through? i have tried both with same results.

Thanks

I will try adjusting the low speed needle when i get home tonight and let you know how i get on.

Cheers

I discovered the problem was in fact a kink in the tube between fuel tank and the carbuerattor - i should have noticed earlier. Thanks for the advice

When i eventually started it the engine the car went crazy and idle on the radio controller seemed to be full acceleration on the car. So i was holding car in one hand with the controller in the other pulling it into reverse then i would release it back to neutral and it would go full speed again, luckily it stalled after a couple of minutes. I havnt started it since for fear of damaging engine during break in phase.
Any ideas on what i should adjust?

is there a kill switch on the car if i have the same problem when i start it up again?

i notice there are a heap of dials and switches on the hand controller but my manual does not tell you what they are for.

check the dial on your radio that says t/trim. that is your throttle ajustment. it should be turned all the way to the left to idle.
