RC Driving Style
I have an idea of running an electric fuel pump on the revo I want to set it up where the pump is connected to the HSN and inlet on one side and I need help finding a fuel fitting that can replace the block off on the other side of the carb so that I can run a return line back into the tank where the pipe would usually connect. What are your thoughts on this and could you help me find the fittings and the best electric pump to use as well as a regulator?
 
I could give you lots of answers but my 1st question would be; why would you want to over complicate an already efficient fuel delivery system?
 
That's a good question lol well I'm a bit of an over achiever and just want to try something new. Secondly I have been doing some porting on these engines And I feel like feeding fuel this way will make tuning an altered engine much more efficient. I experienced an issue with fuel once I got crazy with port timings. Maybe it was the change in back pressure from the pipe due to the exhaust port change or just a need for more of it from changing the timing and size of the transfer ports. But I had to run it pig rich on the LSN just to get it to run worth a crap up top.

That normally means someone (not naming names;)) got too happy with the dremel and theres not much you can do about it…

In order to use a fuel pump system and make it work correctly with a land based rc involves way too much effort and money for very little if any benefit.

Look at Perry Pumps as a start, but dont expect miracles.
 
What about the inlet fitting I described? Is there such a thing that exists?
 
Buddy, I think there is a bunch of us doing things to these engines that we probably shouldn't be doing. (and I am including "me" as one of them!) I think that its' probably not a good idea to be changing port timing mainly because whoever designed the engine probably figured all that out. And if you go grinding on the chrome lining of the sleeve, you're probably asking for trouble. And as far as porting the sleeve and grinding the crank, you're removing material, increasing volume of the case, lowering charge pressure, and slowing down the velocity of the charge. And we haven't even got to the subject of a tuned exhaust pipe. So taking all of this into consideration, for me, I think it's best to leave this kind of stuff to someone who know exactly what to do to improve performance instead of me grinding and doing something detrimental to the engine. I have found what appears to be an excellent book on all aspects of the operation of a 2 cycle engine. Here's a link to it.

And right in the beginning of the book it says this: "The first serious mistake a layman experimenter can make is to assume that those who designed and manufactured his particular engine didn't know what they were doing."
