Engine only seems to run when I pour some fuel down the carby doesn't seem to suck it in and keep it going

Try plugging the exhaust stinger with your finger while turning the engine over.
You should see fuel pass through the fuel tubing into the carb, continue priming the engine a few seconds more. If this doesn't work you may have some old fuel gummed up creating a blockage in the carb.

The carb has been totally cleaned il have to keep looking on another note would having a 3.3 exhaust on a 2.5 engine have running problems?

How old are the fuel lines? They could be clogged with gummed up old fuel. The 3.3 exhaust won't hurt a 2.5, you just have to retune.

Umm had like maybe 5 tanks of fuel through them then it sat in the shed for over a year

Keep the 2.5 air filter or use the 3.3 or doesn't it matter?

If it sat for a year you need to remove and clean the needle valves, then re-tune. You've got old dried up fuel gumming them up.
