Hi guys, just a curiosity question really. Was wondering if i am damaging my favourite toy ny using Tornado 25% fuel.

Had my Savage for 8 weeks now and so far i have used 3 gallons of this 25% nitro fuel, had no trouble starting and it runs like a dream, had a few electrical probs and lost front diff but thats all sorted now. My local rc shop told me that 25% will blow the engine within 2 gallons but i bought 5 gallons off a pal for 10 gold coins, think thats about $15. Not sure if i should use the rest or swap to 20% for more lubrication.

You guys have more experience than me so your advice is more gospel than the man in the shop, he only sells them.

do you know the oil to fuel ratio? If it is around 15% or higher you should be good. Lower oil levels are for racing more than bashing where you want the top power and longevity is not as critical.
The other masters on this site can give better answers than I.
Hope it helped .

YUP what's the oil contenc???? As Cajun said it if is at least 15% you should be just fine. You have had the truck two months and already put three gallons through it, holy crap. You bash like no one I've talked to before. Sounds like you are having a good time though.

I use Tornado 25% it is fine. It's what the HPI rep recommended I use even though the manual tells you to use 20%.

5 gallons for a tenner? That's a pretty good price. Just make sure your friend hasn't had it lying around for too long.

Hey thanks for the advice, all of you. My mind is at rest now so i will get the beast ready for another rumble in the morning. Yes i have used a lot of fuel in a fairly short time but it has been used every day since i bought it and the fuel came from a local rc shop that had a closing down sale. Just taken some pics of my truck and will post them in a few mins, not bashing pics, only just finished putting it back together after a good cleaning session so they were on the garden. Hope you like......
