hi i want to know if i shorten the fuel line from the carb to the gas tank if that would be of advantage to start quicker?. just an idea , any answers will help. n thanx, and also wondering if it is worth buying a higher powered battery for the ez start , i have a 1500

well, i would think a shorter fuel line to the fuel tank(pressure line) would in fact help for a quicker start because air pressure can push the fuel into the carb quicker...If you prime your car before you start it, then you should not need to worry about this.

Generally speaking, it probably will not result in quicker or easier starts. It's not the distance from the tank to the carb that matters when starting but rather making sure you are priming the engine sufficiently. You actually want a slightly longer fuel line (say 10"-12") to make sure the engine keeps running when it flips upside down. When the truck is on its lid, the fuel in the tank moves away from the fuel pick-up in the bottom of the tank and starves the engine. With a longer fuel line, the engine can use the fuel that's in the line to keep running until you can run over and flip it back upright (just don't get into the habit of tweaking the throttle when it's on the lid).

As for the E-Z start, buying a higher capacity battery will certainly make sure you have enough juice to start it up.

cool thanks for the quick response guys will keep that in mind

To add to what monkey said, If your racing a longer line will also hold more fule to.
