Hey I've been doin mechanics for mustangs for years. Building custom fuel injection systems. So I figure id apply that same knowledge to rc. I know it sounds crazy but why not. It is possible. But I will keep everyone posted on the progress. And wen it is done I will post some videos. In the next yr I will be opening my own hobby shop and will be doing custom modifications. Right now I'm workin on a bumper system that has a suspension system attached to it and Ill tell you what I bash hard like I jump my truck off like hill sides and stuff. My goal for each day is to break it and improve on the broken parts. But will keep you updated. Thanks Bye
 
to: svtcobra0388 if you work on a fuel injection for r/c. i will be interested in testing and/or buying one. after i read your post my brain just started cranking out ideas. one for r/c will be harder cause of the size. [email protected]
 
Thankyou for the reply I appreciate it. I will deffinetly keep you guys posted. I'm still in the early process its hard to get funding ya no. But I'm in the process of getting the software created. And also trying to find a machine shop that will create such a small throttlebody but Ill nvr give up.
 
If you need someone to test it out i will gladly do it, i live in pa my self but i am on the other side of the state
 
Well I will be building 4 prototypes. One for me and 3 others for other testers. The software will consist custom fuel mapping by the owner threw a computer. So you control the power curve via computer.
 
Well I gotta find a machine shop thats gonna make me a throttle body and just gota see if my buddy can build me a injector that small but ill get it done an let you know deffinately
 
Just to let you know Racer1966 is a first rate machinist....also need some one at sea-level and 200% humidity to do testing?
 
I have no problem with leeting people test it I just get worried about people stealin the design ya no? Um right now I'm makin the fuel system for the t maxx right now so the throttlebody is pretty much going to be like the traxxas carb except aluminum and there will be a decent size hole for the injector but ill draw it up and giv ya an idea.
 
No way it can be that high of a pressure...I am thinking MAYBE half a PSI to 1.5 at the most. I wish I had a guage that went down that low so I could test it.

No offense,but I thought you knew fuel injection? Carb pressure and injection pressure are way different.

Joey's probably right on, these carbs have no positive shut off valve to stop fuel so there won't be much pressure needed. A typical carb on a 1:1 car runs under 8psi max,9 will blow past the needle valve.
 
Automotive fuel injection is like a whole diff ball game. Dont no so much on the rc side of things. I'm just tryin to get a ball park number on the psi. I understand that carb pressure is way diff but it atleast gives me an idea at what i gota figure out. I've built injection systems for 900 plus hp mustangs nothing this small. So I'm kinda in the dark on this one.
 
make a man-o-meter. its just a hose in a u shape, half filed with water. can't remember how many inchs of water is worth how many psi. lets see, pegboard cut down, clear tubing size is not imporant, but i would use a little under 1/4 inch, fill half way with water.

I was just suggesting what it might need for a fuel injected setup. I do agree that a standard carb is only getting about 1-2 psi, but injection would need a bit more.
