So I am having trouble finding a place to mount my Big Daddy fuel filter in my 8ight. I tried to fit it on the side of the fuel tank, but when you put on the body it majorly hits it.

Do you guys re-route the fuel line around the other side of the fuel tank or something? It just will not fit otherwise.

Does anyone have a pic of their install so I can see it mounted?

Help is most appreciated. :)

Doesn't the Big Daddy come with a Mount? Mine did. I just looked for an existing screw and use that. BUT you may have to get a longer screw to do it. WIsh I had a pic for you.

Oh yeah.. I mounted it over the center diff plate since there are screws I could use.

Just make sure there is no binding with the brake linkages.

Mount it on the radio plate if there's space. If not, I mounted mine on the side of my carrying handle part. If you have a roll cage if your ride is an off-road, mount it there.

In the 8 or 8T it's best to keep things clean and in place.

Yeah, I cannot let it flop around.

Sorry, I have a Losi 8ight and 8ight-T. I am trying to mount it on my 8ight right now.

So mount it on my center diff Jon2? I am trying to picture it right now. It doesn't get in the way of the body? I am at work right now. I look at it when I get home. Which vehicle did you mount yours on the center diff?

Yes mine does come with a mount. I am trying to figure out a place to mount it.

I would try to keep fuel and electronics separate...if the fuel line leaks on your Rx or battery long enough, you will be screwed.....

Why can't you mount it on the side of your fuel tank by the exhaust? Thats where I would put mine on the 8ight. I have fuel clips on my fuel line.

Now I know you can't do the same considering this is a buggy, but I have both my fuel filters (on the Maxx) mounted behind the rear shock tower, along with about 1 foot of extra line coiled up (gives about 30 seconds of lid time!) and never have problems. And, if the need arises, it is pretty easy to get to the line or filters for repairs.

On my buggy I had it mounted and coiled around the handle for bump starters.

You do not want to run your line outside of the body. These are race inspired rigs and they can easily get caught up on something while running. My suggeestion is to run it on top of the center diff plate if you have the mount. You don't want this flopping around and especially not near the RX box.

If you put your fuel filter next to the tank inbetween the clips that hold the fuel line, the body on the 8ight will nto fit anymore. Especially with a Big Daddy fuel filter.

I will try to find a way to run it on top of the center diff as Jon stated. :bandit:

Thanks for the help guys. I will let you know if I still have issues.

Take a picture of how you mounted it, would like to see also.

Why are you even bothering with a fuel filter. The heavy thing inside the tank is a fuel filter. No need for anything else. And it keeps the truck running when it's imitating a turtle.

Yeah, thats all I use. :bandit:

I wouldn't trust the tank filter as much as a stone element......if you run engines costing 300+ it's just a good idea to take extra good care of it.....

The 8ight tank filter is similar to what's inside a Big Daddy filter.

8ight is right, on our Losi's the fuel filter has a gold stone filter in the bottom just like the big daddy filter does inside. I was wondering that myself. Should I still mount it?

The reason why I got it was in this site it was metioned my many people to get a fuel filter and a big daddy one at that and add it to any nitro. Is that still true?

Does anyone know if the racers all put one in, or don't they do to they get free motors left and right so they don't even care?

A fuel filter is not excessive in this case. Its not a bad idea to run an additional fiter. Why would you replace a tank filter or the tank itself when you can just clean out the external filter?I run them in all my Nitro rides. Its just a good habit to pick up.

So if the tank already has a filter in it, we don't need another filter on it? Awesome, now I have one for my return line :D.
