Wildcat fuel?

I currently run traxxas fuel with good results but asking how a fuel performs on here is cheaper than trial and error. Has anyone ran wildcat fuel.

I ran 2 tanks of a wild cat blend.... half way through the secound tank I shut my maxx of and dumped it back out and had more black oil residue on the side of my truck and not to mention the oil that ran out of the exhaust when I picked it up and tipped it..... In my book junk you guys say traxxas fuel is junk but I have had good luck with it so far, and I used trinity monster horse power and I like that too.. The trinity almost not residue on the side of my truck and with traxxas there really isnt much more if any.. It could also depend on your climate, temps, air thickness, every detail means something to an equation...

The people that say Traxxas is junk typically comes from people that couldnt even get their trucks to start on it. I have been OUT of the hobby for about 10 years but when I started in it, I went to the LHS because my Maxx wouldnt start and it was brand new. He said are you using the blue wire, I said yes and he said what fuel and I told him Traxxas. He sold me a glow ignitor and some Blue Thunder. I went home charged the ignitor put some BT in the tank and first hit on the ez start it was running. Never used the blue wire or Traxxas again and my trucks always start and run like theyre supposed to. I went with HPI this time so I have to use an ignitor but I still dont use Traxxas fuel and I dont have any problems

Yeah, I don't think so. I had no problems getting my trucks to start, the fuel is just crap, and any engine I have ever "run" on it ran like crap. I would never recommend Traxxas fuel to anyone.

I love these fuel argument threads  Most fuel issues aren't really fuel issues IMO,it's a matter of tuning. Tuning is more than just adjusting the needles,it's the right plug, right head shims AND needle settings.

I didn't realize Powermaster had a car blend,it's all airplane stuff here. I never had an issue with Traxxas,I don't use it because I buy whatever is cheapest and that's not it. Wildcat was my favorite but it's not available locally anymore. Currently I'm running Blue Thunder race but I'm down to my last tank. Hmmm... wonder what's on sale now? :D

well when you dont turn any needles and you can't get it to start and all you do is change fuels and it runs perfect what else do you blame? :)

the temp outside, airthickness, humidity, and all that stuff does make a difference... hense needing to tune for different weather.... some fuels work better in certain climates when others arent compatable...... There is alot of variables to how your truck is running...... I was swapping from trinity monster power and traxxas and honestly didn't see a difference I didnt need to retune or nothing so theat fuel has got to be closer than you say it is... I had problems with wildcat fuel... it could've been old or it could be a type that doesn't work well in my climate.....(Maine we have our own climate cold, warm, cold, wet, humid, every 5 minutes it seems to change)

How can a company like Losi require their own fuel (nitrotane) to keep their warranty and kinda get away with it? I also think the model fuel market is like the motor oil market in this sense. You have your major players and then you have your uncommon brands.

Actually Losi can't. It's like the printer industry tried to do with their branded ink. They were told they couldn't refuse warranty service for not using their brand of ink. I have yet to see Traxxas refuse to do warranty work because the user wasn't running Top Fuel.

I blame you for being too lazy to try and make it run. As stated by mtaylortank, there are a lot of variables and fuels are blended differently which requires some effort on your part instead just saying "it's bad fuel".

Anyone that has fuel that won't run, feel free to send it my way. I'll run it! :D

I use s&w 20% fuel. I absolutely love it! No oil residue like Trinity gave me, and i really think it gave me more power than the Trinity. And best of all is that its only $22 for a gallon!

I've tried ALL types of fuel, minus a few that I've just never even heard of before that get mentioned on the forums time to time. But as far as big names go, been there, done that, every single type.

I've never run a fuel I couldn't get the motor to start on, that's just silly talk. However as far as performance and heat goes, there's a major difference. Just because you can get your engine to run on it, doesn't automatically prequalify a fuel as "good". Some people praise the Traxxas garbage fuel as awesome because "they've never had a problem with it". Well that's all fine and dandy and swell and all that jazz, but to those people out there; once you try a fuel that's ACTUALLY good, you'll see what I'm talkin' about when I say get rid of that crap and run something decent.

At the end of the day. O'Donnell Speed Blend and Byron Gen2 Race = ultimate. Those two fuels give my motors max top end, very long run times, and amazingly low operating temps in contrast to the ultra-oily fuels and cheaper blends.

my maxx runs at 120 -135 and will keap the wheels off the ground until i let off the trigger... I will post when I am able to get a video camera and operator to prove you can run traxxas fuel without a single problem.. I ran trinity monster fuel to and about the same temps... maybe alittle higher but not by much....... What works for me could seem like junk to you........ climate humidity air thickness temp. they all have effects and actually if you look in certain areas i am sure you will find traxxas 20% with diferent oil ratio's due to different climates.

You run your Maxx at 120-135 huh? Well that tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of nitro engines and why no one should listen to your fuel advice. :hehe:

Traxxas engines run best between 260 and 290. Dude, get your facts straight.

They don't. They sent me a brand new 3.4 even after I told them I ran O'Donnell's fuel.

yeah mine would run warmer if i had warmer weather i bet.... The warmest it has got was 210. so far.. I live in maine alittle chilly at times..... the warmest day so far has gotten to 50 where I am so how can u comment on the temp of my engine..... and telling me to get my facts right what the hell you wanna come up and check the temp on my motors???????? some of you people are something else... and I really dont care if anyone listen to what I say everything said by everyone is an opinion on what everyone like and does so why act like you all are so much better then everyone... yeah you might know a few more tricks but you can't sit there and tell people they are wrong on what they say when they are letting you know what they are doing and have witnesssed wow.. (before anyone coments on spelling I am horrible with spellin)

And have been told by a quite a few people best temp was between 220 and 260 any higher and there is higher risk of overheating.... but if you are in a warmer climate yeah I am sure them higher temps are more frequent.

sorry just reread and it says dont run over 270 to prevent problems... and it says if it keaps going over 270 retune to not run over 270.... But i will get told I am wrong about that to....
