well it finally runs, bad blue wire and whatnot. tuning seems to be alot more difficult than my old truck years back. i can't seem to get it right, my temps are going way up past 265 so id shut it off. this thing is driving me nuts.. help again!

edit: there is also raw fuel coming out the pipe, is this normal?

need more info......
i can tell you to richin it up, but that might not help,
WHat is it doing? is it just a temp issue or is it acting up?
You might have an air leak? is it sealed and did you check your work?

i double checked everything, it starts right up and when its idling it has some blue smoke to it. the temps start to rise quickly. i dunno what to do now I've reset it back to factory settings three times now and nothing new.. engine is at 72 degrees when starting.

when you floor it and give WOT does it cut out

Let it come up to temp before checking that. Also, when it's warm, tightly pinch the fuel line close to the engine and count the seconds from the time you pinch it till it speeds up and then quits. Give us the count.

If this is a 2.5, that temp is in a good range. Those engines seem to perform better when they are hot. Mine was always very happy in the 280 range.

when i went to my lhs the tech there tested that and mine did that. he said you need a piston/sleeve

sorry i was in a rush. the tech took it out side. warmed it up and tuned it. it wouldn't consistently tune. so then he gave it WOT and it cuts out. it does this 3 to 4 times. he then turns to me and said i needed a new piston/sleeve. thats when i bought my 3.3.

It started and it ran. When he punched it it cut out. I don't see a problem there other than needle settings, done in the proper order. I'm guessing he didn't turn the flywheel by hand to check the compression. That's how you know if you need a rebuild.

Don't throw the engine away. I'm sure it's still good.

nah it was so loose. and it had been doing that for a while at this point.
