bought the center driveshafts for the older t-maxx they seem to fit on well however i got a different brake hex supplied from the one i am using currently. the otherone is like a hex cap with a hole in it the older original one that came with the car is a blue hex washer. after fitting it to my black 2.5 transmission the thing locks up the wheels are hard to turn and an audible clicking can be heard like a ratchet spanner when you force it to move. i have taken it apart and reinstalled it 6 times and am completely stumped as to how tge problem is manifesting itself. it does not actually occour UNTIL all screws are in place. 8 gearbox screws and front center driveshaft grub screw on the gearbox side. if only some screws are in the thing behaves normally. i am completely stumped. is it the brake hex thats acting up. is the brake disc being misaligned? anyone ever dealt with this issue?

Becarefull that the right rear screw isn't too long, if it is it can hit the gear inside the trany case & cuase damage.

I've pulled back the blue dustboot and grinded the front dogbone inside the shaft to make it 2mm shorter. may grind the back one in the morning. if it acts up after that ill try and install it without the brake disc after that well... ill throw the transmission as far as i can.

i grinded the grooves deeper and the gap between the two halves wider at the top with a taper so it wouldnt catch the dogbone shaft.
in addition i grinded the domed bit of the dogbone flatter to allow more depth although i think that part was unessacary.
anyway the problem is sorted i was using the 4949R cvds:first_place:
i wasn't bothered sending away for the hex adapter so i just wrapped solder around the shaft of the cup and forced it down the sides into the blue hex it does a fine job.
