Fried my EZ starter battery, recomendations for a repalcement?

The battery for my EZ start wand, wound up having the wires short together. It wont take a charge anymore. It was a Nicad.

I think I want to replace it with a NIMH, can anybody recomend a good one? Or is there any reason I should NOT get a Nihm and stick with a Nicad.

Get a NiMH and it need not be a big one for an EZ Start. I use 1600 mAh Venom sport packs in my starters. But that is JMO.

i got rid of the battery. went to radio shack got a conector that plugs in the same place as the battery did. then get r/s wire thats two wires together one red one black, then get the plug that plugs into the sig lighter, wire it to the black/red wire. this plugs into the sig lighter socket. wire the other end to the plug to go into the e-z start wand. i made mine 25 ft long. i do all my work on the tail gate. down side? you can't start your truck unless its near your street truck. plus side? you dont have to worry about a battery going down. you can still use a battery if needed.

I actualy found a 3300 NIMH batt the other day.... I had stopped using it a while back because it wasn't charging properly..... my fancy new charger seems to have brought it back to life.
problem solved..... total cost $0

I use a Venom NiMh 3300 mah in one of my wands and a 4200 mah in my other one. They last forever I think I only have to charge them like once a week maybe longer it depends on how much I run my trucks.

update on nicad battery elemuator. iam working on a system so you use only the battery in your street truck. i plan on useing a chip LM317 voltage reg. iam hoping to put together an instruction set so others can it them selfs.
