The "Older" Metallica was good.

Why is there new stuff on radio and they are so popular, ummmmmm the same reason rap and dave matthews band is, because theres are dumber people in the world than me.:eyes:

All of Metallica's best music was made before they had wide spread radio play. Master of Puppets was the best album they ever made, and they've been going downhill ever since they finished And Justice for All.

Justice was up to their previous standards, but the Black album most certainly was not. Load, and Reload were lacking, to put it nicely, and this last one they made doesn't even sound like them.

I miss Megadeth. :(

i never said i liked them.. only said they were pretty good. I really dont listen to matalicca or blah mathew or what ever it is.
The most annoying solo singer is sean paul!!

They totally ruined all hope of napster and others like it.
I used to be a fan but now they can die and I wouldn't care one wit.

Never understood why people begrudge somebody wanting to actually be paid for their work. I didn't realize so many people worked for free.

oh hell no! metallica rocks! songs like 1. sad but true, 2. enter sandman, and 3. master of puppets are the best!:bandit:

I'll agree with you on number 3 there. On the Black album I muched prefered Through the Never and Of Wolf and Man, better

As far as Metallica goes, I'm still partial to "One". Sorry, I know it got beaten to death on MTV, but it just drips with raw power. And as far as pure evil goes, I'll take White Zombie any day. "Real Solution #9". I always get the drivethrough at McDonalds bangin' with that one.

But as we all know, "the greatest song ever" will be just as subjective as your thread about the greatest drummer and guitar player. So, that being said, I won't vote for the greatest song. But I will take a little trip back in time and give you some of my classic favorites.

"Fool In The Rain"- Led Zepplin
"Comfortably Numb"- Pink Floyd
"Join Together"- The Who

Perhaps a few for artistic merit:

"Xanadu"- Rush
"The Wind Cries Mary"- Jimi Hendrix

And for anyone who has seen U2 live, there's nothing like hearing tens of thousands of people singing "40" and they slowly file out of the stadium.

RUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i love YOU!!! haha I'm a little obsessive... i think spirit of radio and lime light kick ass.....but the geddi lee has got a crazy voice..and hes a bassist

OMG it's music wars. OK so the Prodigy SMBU that poop cracks me up I still have a copy of that single for some reason, bought the CD a hell of a long time ago. Metallica was good and I will agree that yes they did kill the napster movement. As for the original post here Can't say it's the best song ever at all. Just can't agree with that.
