Why can't free email accounts join? my friend really wants to join, but he can't because he doesn't know who is ISP is and can only use hotmail and gmail...He wants to join but can't! Can you make an exeption(Hes really smart in Emaxxes).

They did this so not just anyone could join and start spamming the site.

For future reference, you may just wanna PM an admin about somethin like this.

1- The rule was put into place a LONG time ago to keep people from spamming the boards anonomously.
2- Have your friend go to http://whatismyip.com and the web page will tell him his public IP address. Then have him go to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jhtml (the j is not a typo) and type the IP adderss in the box and Search. It will tell him who is ISP is. After that its a simple Google search to find their webpage and their customer support to get a REAL email address.

If your friend is a minor have him ask his parents to set him up with a real email account.

As AC48 has stated and as the site rules already says:

Use of Free E-Mail Accounts - RCNitroTalk.com no longer allows new members to register with free e-mail accounts such as Yahoo! or Hotmail. Veterans of any internet forum can attest to this fact. In order to keep our forum honest and friendly, we don’t allow people to register using any free email sites. You must use a “real” email address from your web host ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected], the email assigned to you from your ISP, etc..) If you are concerned about privacy, you have the option to set your profile to not allow other forum members to view your email address. RCNitroTalk.com does NOT and will NOT give out any personal information about you to any third party(s).

However I have had no problem manually setting up an account for a new member that only has a free email account. What your friend needs to do is email me with is requested username, his email address, and location (city, state).

In the future matters like this should be PM'ed to a staff member - thanks!
