ihave a 1\8 monster truck. is a chinese make. the isue is that when I switch to reverse gear from the radio the truck moves in reverse, but when I ty to switch to forward the truck does not move at all. what could be the problem?can anyone help me? its has 2 speed transmission system...

I would first check to make sure that when you're shifting back to forward that the servo is moving far enough to engage the gear. If it is, I would also check the linkages and the gears themselves to make sure they're engaging. Sounds like when you try to shift to forward that the truck is actually shifting into a pseudo neutral.

thank you for the immediate response. i have checked the servo arm is moving adequate to shift to forward. the spur and pinion gears are also engaged and moving. i have also tried getting the engine 80% rpm. but do not find any forward movement.
what else could i do??????

Disconnect the servo arm and physically pull the linkage as far as it will go. That will determine that it's definately in forward. Push it in, and check reverse, then forward again. Do this when it's ideling, and give it a little throttle in each direction. If it goes into forward when you do it manually, you need to adjust the linkage. If not, you have a problem inside the tranny and will need to take it apart.
