What other way is there to lubricate an engine after you run it besides hobbico's after run oil. Would WD40 work.

In the past i have used ATF automatic trasmission fulid.it will do the trick just fine IMO

After Run Oil is definately the product of choice... I recommend using it...
Can you use other products? Sure...
WD40
Marvel Mystery Oil
pnuematic tool oil

KY, Astroglyde, For Her Pleasure. Vaseline. Crisco. and the list goes on.....

Sorry I only read the post topic. :p:

ARO is designed specifically for this purpose and is cheap. Why mess around with products that "MAY" work as well when you can get the proper product.

I use either the Hobbico ARO or the Trinity ARO. Doesn't matter to me. Which ever one I see first in the toolbox is the one I use.

I new someone couldn't resist. LOL!!!!!!!!

I use Hobbico ARO, but not everytime. For some reason I think the ARO fouls out my glow plugs. Anyone else expieriance this? It might note be right away, but if I use ARO, within 2 or 3 sesions it has trouble starting, and I have to change the glow plug. I also run a high oil content fuel. Odonnell. Any more I only use ARO when it is going to sit a while. Currently I have it in everthing but my buggy since I run it once, or twice a week. :2cents:

Oh yeah, I think its Traxxas that says to use WD-40.

well yeah traxxas says that to use wd40 my friend owns one and we saw the dvd that came with the car. i have hobbico ARO but thats the only one I've tried. and hypeeonrc i know if you put to much aro itll flood the engine for a day or two but i dont think itll do anything to the glow plug.
Which ARO do you thing is best for any engine.

I don't know that it matters which brand. I have only used Hobbico.

would it seriously screw up the engine so bad that you would have to replace it. i think it would if you still had gas in the engine and you stored it for a year or something like that. wouldnt the gas turn into something like gum or something like that and cause rust.

i use the Hobbico stuff its always on towerhobbies list of items other people bought so i snatched one up. works nice for me.

ARO will prevent rust from forming and also keep the engine from "gumming" up because of th residual fuel left inside. It also keeps it nicely lubricated. Just don't put too much in. A few drops (3-5) will do fine. I usually put a few drops in the carb for the crank and a couple in the piston, via the glowplug. Give the pull start a few yanks to circulate the ARO or if using a starter box or rotostart, a short blast on the wheel or pulse of the rotostart will be fine.

Reason I said to not use too much is because of what happened to a friend of mine. He used too much ARO in his car all the time. With a dual chambered pipe, the baffles clogged over time and caused a real tuning issue. Even bought a new engine, thinking that was the problem. Different engine, same issue. He cut the pipe in half and saw that most of the baffles were clogged.

The car started but would die after a few laps. Once the pipe was changed, not a stutter.

ARO is the only thing I use on all my nitro's and works just fine. Never had a problem with any of the engine's.

diver 6127 i think someone once told me that if you put ARO through the carb itll mess up the o rings i think.

Never heard that. I also put ARO in the carb. It is suggested to do so.

....................I hear that too I think Ron Paris made that statement
but it was ok to put it in thru the glow plug opening.

yeah i always put it in thru the glow plug hole just to be safe. dont want to break the engine or something, I'm not rich you know.

from the manual that comes with the ntc3 under care and maintenance...

"do not inject the oil into the carburetor for it may cause the o-rings to deteriorate"

but id trust diver and team 17 i think they have had rc`s at least a week or two

I use good ol' 3in1, I use to never use anything, then I had a Hpi 12r lock up on me when I let it set a few months with the piston at just about TDC. Believe it or not, I actually got pissed and beat the piston loose with needle nose pliers, it pitted the hell outa the top of the piston, but I put the head back on and have put over 4 gallons of fuel through it and it still runs fine to this day? I never noticed a loss in power or compresion.
