Lets see a pic of the lid on your rig, then we can give you a solid answer.

IMO I would just open up the wheel wells a little bigger than they are supossed to be and call it good, definatly do NOT cut the body where it will weaken the structure because your lid is the "helmet" of your rig.

Here is my Proline F-650 body on my old style Tmaxx (model 4910)...you slhould have no problems. I didn`t have to cut or modify anything. As long as you bought the one meant for the older style maxx.

Damn good looking lid ant, I am not a fan of those trucks IRL (in real life) but they look good on MTs lol
 
Thanks! Yeah, I am not a huge fan of the real life ones either, but Proline can do a good job of changing your mind!
