My fail safe should be here tomorrow - a day late and a dollar short.

No Fail Safe Album

Got too far away from me and took off like a rocket. Dang it was running good too!! Had it doing wheelies on command with still stock tires on it. Smacked a building head on. Oh well. I wanted RPM a-arms anyways.

Can't really tell whats goin on there (its kinda blurry) but I think I speak for everyone when I say, THAT SUCKS. I guess when you fix it up that failsafe will be one of the first things you put on.

Broke right side front a-arms, blew tire off rim, bent both shocks and destroyed spur gear.

It only takes one accident to make a you believer. Think of it as car insurance for RC's. $25 - $35 is cheap insurance from seeing your baby going WOT into a object that doesn't give.

Listen to Mcvickj he is so right, I would alike it to people that don't back up files on their computer. Until on day they lose everything. They usually backup after that. Thing is b proactive and not reactive and save yourself some money.

I bought the Venom fail safe new in box off eBay for $30 shipped.

I'm so pumped! I just orderred my Digital Servo Programmer from HiTec. No more failsafes needed!!!! I can program the servos failsafe internally now! As well as end points, speed, dead bands etc!!!!

Failsafes are a must IMO! A MUST!!!

When there is power to the servos, a throttle return spring wont do poop, without power, a failsafe wont do poop. So, having both is Utopia!

You have just been lucky.

Failsafes and throttle return springs are a must have. If your ride ever goes out of control, you better pray it just does damage to your ride. If it happens to hurt somebody.....

$30 is cheap insurance against the unexpected.

Well My failsafe story is not quite as dramatic as you but...I was using my Maxx in a very large field and I thought I had stalled as I got closer I had my finger on the throttle...and it started moving....so my failsafe engaged when my Maxx was out of range....otherwise it probably would have been a runaway....I am way too old and out of shape to be chasing a toy truck all over the place....might make for funny TV but thats about it LOL.....

Failsafes are cheap enough to protect your investment.

sLY

Got my fail safe in today and have it installed. Also got my battery pack from onlybatterypacks.com - man I'm in heaven. Still waiting on my Hitec 645MG servo, RPM a-arms, and my Hitec FM receiver for the Lynx 3d transmitter I got.

Hey Christian, It doesn't happen often but I'm jealous bro. I don't have enough digital servos to justify the cost but I'm still considering one. I don't think most people realize that most digital servos can be set for "failsafe". How much did you pay? I'm assuming you got the one from Hitech? I'll definitley be looking forward to your two cents on the programmer.

As for the topic @ hand. Unlike many threads I've seen recently, YBLegal's experience here is an actual good point. A TRS obviously wouldn't have saved his truck as he went out of radio range. A good Failsafe and a proper TRS is a must on EVERY nitro RC car and I don't think anyone here is going to disagree with those that have already made that point.

Hey,

Which failsafe did you get?? I'm running OFNA micro in a couple trucks and loving it. Tiny ass little bastard too.

I got the Venom fail safe. Fits in the receiver box nicely.

Id have to disagree with you on that point. It has definately been successfully rationalized. You just dont agree with the rational behind it hehehehe

Hey EP,

I don't think it's a matter of "Rationale". Most people I know either love them or hate them. I think the Failsafes of yore did cause allot more glitching (read did more harm then good) then current failsafes.

Nice, I've been very happy with the Venom FS that I use to run.

That's like saying it's been successful in debating their lack of value but there are still some die hards that actually think they need them...

ill wat till i have a crash and prob still ot use one I've just seen them malfunctio so mny times or not work correctly so i just pronally dont like them i ran for years without one

It's like car, life, disability and medical insurance. You think it is a waste until you actually need it. Then if you don't have it, prepare to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
