I put in my FOC on my Maxx 2.5 last week and finally got a chance to test it out this weekend. I love it, I love it, I love it. The install was very easy just take the chasis braces off and disconnect the center drivelines violah tranny off. Just had to open the tranny take out the unwantend put the new FO shaft in worked great! While I was in there I put I'm my Dynamite Teflon sealed bearings. No more shuttering just instant get up and go. I had to richen my mixture a little so it wont flip on its lid. Next step is a digital radio so I can run it leaner and just adjust my throttle travel speed so it starts out without wanting to wheelie. Anyways go get one! there like $10 and I love it! reverse is for Radioshack kids.:p

Yes indeed the FOC is a good thing and it's cheap too. Not only do you take off some weight but also alot of rotating mass from the tranny.

I just recently did the FOC in mine too, I did not want to give up my reverse. Man I only wish I had done it sooner! It's a great hop up for very little money.

Just one of the 2 best upgrades for the Maxx... The other being a slide carb.... Speedwise anyway....

i'm thinking of getting the FOC but i don't know if i'm actually going to go get it !! Still trying to decide !!

Tiny you won't be dissapointed, the punch off idle is night and day difference.

maybe ill take mine apart this week supposed to rain and snow all week and put it in its sitting right here

I agree i installed the foc 2 weeks after I bought my maxx and love it would never even dream of putting reverse back in it, in fact i threw it away

why would someone want to get rid of reverse?

its not that much lighter

and isent it usefull?

well i wouldent know what its like with reverse.

(the magic wheel doesent have it)

I have a foc i took out the servo and broke off the thing so its stuck in forward... didnt cost me $10 bucks and it worked the same.

And performance... what does it add?

Did you not read flattops first post in this thread. That along with you don't have the internal clutch so its direct drive so you get automatic response... Read before you post...x:\

Since its obvious that I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground would anyone else like the task of trying to find a way to explain this to racin, what I am not able to convey in terms that can be digested by his brain....X

Jeeze louises X, Believe what you wannna and go fly a kite and then u may beable to tell the difference between a hole in the ground and ur face!

X, I'm still trying to figure out what the hell he said.... Sorry dude, Hooked on Phonics owes you a refund...

I haven't done the FOC yet mainly because the closest LHS is 2 hours away and I can only get to it every few months. That's at the top of my list for the next trip. But I do know that to install it, you remove a fair amount of stuff from the tranny. Thus reducing rotating mass and a really annoying chain of clutches. That means instant response. Why do you think race bred stadium trucks take off like poop through a goose when you peg the throttle????
