I'm putting a FOC in my tmaxx and was wondering if there was anything else I should replace because of the FOC? What servo controls the reverse (throttle)? I just don't know what all is required to run reverse.:loser:

it will tell you what to do in the instructions.

you will be removing the servo that is right next to the steering servo but facing upwards.

Ok. So the instructions will also tell you what else you need to do besides removing tranny gears? Cool. I thought there would have to be something else to be removed.

You shouldn't have to change anything. The servo that is tied to the tranny is going to come out. And you will notice a big change when running it due to the less rotating mass!

I'm very happy about that. I didn't upgrade any of the servos on it. Any rec's out there? I mean it is a Tmaxx and they've been around awhile but I don't see why I can't still make it a great runner. I keep hearing from the LHS not to put anything into it because it's been around awhile and there are other trucks to buy. I like it though so I'm going to upgrade it depending on the recommendations from here.

the main upgrades i used where....

traxxas blue tuned pipe
revo cooling head

the blue pipe gives much better performance and better flow for cooler running.

and the revo head improves the cooling dramaticly.

I bought the tmaxx used. It already had aluminum front/rear bulkheads, aluminum front/rear skide plates, aluminum chassis, aluminum chassis braces and rpm centre skid plate. I just put a hump pack and charging plug. It has the "Hurricane" twin stinger rear exhaust on it. I paid 250.00 for everything. I haven't put a cooling head on it but I will now. Thanks.
Does the tranny need any fluid in it or just grease? If it needs fluid how do you seal it up? Same with the diffs. I was told to use silicone from Canadian tire to seal the diffs up. Has anyone else done this?

Since you will have it apart. I recommend changing your Clutch bell and Spur gear to Robinson Racing Products. ALso check your bearings and replace any needed.

dose Robinson Racing make all the gears in the tranny if not what ones do they not make.

the tranny does not need grease of any type ,it will gum up the 2 speed bigtime
i use graphite in a little tube for car door locks ,should be able to find it anywhere thye make spare keys

I left the top shaft stock in mine...I've seen the metal ones get chewed fairly easily...I'd rather replace a 10 set than a $60 set.....also the tranny is noticably smoother when you mate the aluminum to plastic gears.....Hugo sounds like you're diving in....I'd suggest teh tranny and diff gears and RPM arms.....and get that proline shock set off e-bay w/ the CVDs and turnbuckles.....after that you can drop a real bad ass mill in and won't tear stuff up easily.....(can't say never with RCs)
