Ok guys, I have these vent shade things over my windows on my 1:1 truck. They are held on with 3m foam tape. A couple weeks back me and all my friends were at the local mall and some one must have punched my window and shade out of verisocity. I think it was one of the little prom high school F%$*'s there that night, anyway. It broke to say the least. My truck is a crew cab and there are 4 to take off. I got the broke one off today, after 2 hours, and a industrial bottle of Goof Off. Now I'm more pissed then ever, I need to replace them or get them off ASAP because I'm looking at trading my current ride in soon and well I can't have some half assed thing on there you know. Anyone have a quick home remidy of taking foam tape off. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

If you have a heat gun or a good hair dryer that will work as well.

Just heat up the tape and try to pull it back? I may give that a try, no heat gun, but a hair dryer. I'm going to give that a whirl tomarrow for shure when I try to pry the rest off.

Dental floss (Fishing Line, or any strong thin string) and WD40 might work on the shades that are still attached. I would heat them up with the blowdryer first. Don't overheat your windows if you have tint. You could also try 3m Remover on the foam tape left over. I've seen it at AutoZone or Wal-Mart I believe.

You could also try this:

Thanks man. Thats pretty much what I did, except I used goof off. What a Pain. And as of now it looks like rule mister dad shut down the idea of a new truck once again. I'm so freakin tired of this bs! Every time I find a truck, its not good enough for him. I really liked this one too. Damn! 06 chevy slivarado 1500, crew cab short bead. It has everything I want too like the center concole, bose system, chrome grill, 20 inch wheels, flowmaster, just the little stuff that counts in my eyes, along with low miliage. He says the beads to short you can't get your bike in the back, which would fit but the rear wheel would be on the tail gate. He also hates the idea of me having a 4 door, he just says why you dont have kids what for, I like the roomines fact and I can hual alot of friends around lol. I dont know, I think I'm going to put off this project for a while and just drive around with 3 on my truck like a dork for a while. I'm saving that link in though for future refrence though thats for shure.

About 9 or 10 years ago I was working in the restaurant business. I was a teenager at the time as many of the people I worked with were. I came to work one day and found out a few of the girls I worked with got into a bad car accident. 3 or 4 giddy teenage girls in one car... One of them never came back to work... if you know what I mean.

Ya ya it was in the back of my mind but hey you can't blame me for tryin lol, besides she has her own truck 4 door so it dosent really matter what I get lol. Anyways! This is a link to what I'm lookin at.

Its really stuck in my mind though, its just such a pretty truck lol. My dad really thinks I should wait till they have the 08 blow out but I hate waiting so long, espically beings the truck I'm driving gets 8 mpg and feels like the trannys slippin. Who knows though. Its buggin me to have a missing shade on my truck though, so ill probally end up fixing it tomarrow. I think what I'm going to try is to heat it up with a heat gun, then use dental floss to cut it off. Thanks for the help guys.
