Hey guys I just got a jr radio from MR T and am wondering if any fm reciever will work with it or does it have to be a jr reciever?

my freind has a xr3i and he use's futaba rx's and airtronics rx's and has no problems....

i would stick to the receivers designed for that particular manufacturer. although it may work initially, you may not get the correct range. signals are also dependent on amplitude and signal algorithms.

I think I've found a jr that would work for me. Two more questions...Would a synth reciever work ok? Should I stick to brand specific crystals

yeah VB, synth Rx is a good way to go.. I know on my Novak XXtra there are two settings for the same first digit number... for different brands. Does that make sense? There are two sixes, two sevens... and so on for eight and nine. I don't think crystal brand matters, but I think you have to make sure you get a ground crystal, not an air crystal. probably the only thing you may get with brand name crystal is possibly quality but I can't vouch for that assumption.

I use an XS3, and works with an RS 300 in my savage, Novak XXtra and a Novak xxl FM. The XL is an FM. My XS3 is 75 MHz Synth. So long you are in the right band and set you will have no problems. FM 75Mhz & FM 75MHz Synth= ok 75Mhz FM& 27 MHz FM= NO WORKIE.

Got the picture?
