flywheels

First take all of the clutch assembly off your engine. Do this by taking out the screw that goes in the crankshaft. Slide the clutchbell off and you'll see the clutch. Slide the clutch off and you'll see the exposed clutch nut. It's the nut that holds the flywheel on. Take off that nut by using a pair of pliers and hold the flywheel while using another pair to unscrew the nut.

Now you're ready to take off the flywheel. Do this by prying it off with a flathead screwdriver. There are other methods but this one is easiest for me.

Some flywheels are keyed to the crank and kept from spinning by two flat spots machined on the crank that correspond to two flats cut into the flywheel. Some other cranks use cones to hold the flywheel from spinning on the crank. They usually use a spacer with swirls machined into it to help grip the flywheel.
