how to put a fly wheel on without tool

how do you hold the flywheel to tightin the nut? dont have a flywheel wrench got a new sts 30 and want to get it going


one other ? can you turn the slider on the carb the little ball is on the top and i need it to face the front ot the truck

You can use a rag and some pliers or a vise. Use the rag to help keep from scarring the flywheel.

The throttle arm on a lot of carbs can be rotated by removing the screw that holds the on. So it'll depend on how your carb is made.
 
i found out that a box end of a wrench can slide over the prongs like a fw wrench really cool and easy to find
 
See if the "ball end" on your slider has a set screw on the opposite (under) side of the ball.. Most can be rotated 360* by loosening the setscrew and adjusting..
 
Hold the flywheel firmly with channel locks and loosen the clutch nut with an 8mm wrench. Be careful not to bend the shoe pegs.
