Please Help With This Problem!

So here is my problem....

I have a Sirio .27 motor with a Fironi (sorry can't spell) clutch and flywheel set. When i start up the motor, the flywheel keeps spinning but the clutch bell does not. When i give the car gas, it shuts off. I know the flywheel isn't supposed to spin like once the car is started.

What could it be? I took the clutch assembly apart yesterday and it looked normal to me. The clutch may be a little worn but could that be causing this problem?

Thanks!

Noodle does the flywheel spin freely without the engine on and not move the piston if that's the case your flywheel is loose somehow either you didn't have a collett installed or it is just in fact loose. The flywheel will spin all the time it is what helps keep your engine running. It is the rotational mass of the flywheel that makes the engine spin over and keep doing so. The dying though sounds clutch related. How about a little clarification on the flywheel as to when the engine is off.

Yes, i can push the flywheel and it will spin normaly when the engine is off. Of course there is resistance because of the compression in the motor but it seems fine when it is off. I remember on my other motor that the flywheel could spin backwards (obviously not good for the engine) but for some reason if you push it the opposite way with your finger it will not move.

I can spin the clutch bell and the flywheel will not spin so it can't be that problem.

The flywheel is connected to the crankshaft, its supposed to be connected securely. When the motor turns over, the flywheel turns as well.

The Clutch bell is supposed to spin freely.

It seems too me that you most likely have a tunning problem.

The flywheel will not move backwards because when you do, it puts th ps assembly in a bind.

ok, well i tested again and everything seems to be working but for some reason the car wont move... the back wheels do not spin when placed on the ground...

i think it is the clutch but I'm not sure...

can anyone clarify?

LOL I think it is the clutch or something is binding in the drive train. Test and verify.

Did you install the clutch shoes backwards?

What ride is this engine in?

Have you checked for any binding in your drive train? Tons to look at here.

If this vehicle comes equipped with a slipper clutch, is the slipper clutch tight enough to allow the drive train to engage? IF it is too loose, the spur gear will never engage the drive train...it will just freewheel on the input drive axle.

When you installed the new clutch, did you perhaps get some lubricant on the clutch bell or shoes? If so, the clutch will slip and slide without too much output.
