MY REvo with OS 18tm is having a problem with the flywheel spinning out of control I'm on my 4th break in tank and the wheel starts to spin after it has been running a few minutes and i give it some juice:buggy1: I have looked at the clutch shoe and the spring both seem to be in order. What the f...........ck is the problem. Ok I'm a newbie maybe that will help you figure out what i did wrong.

Thanks

Scott G:OMG:

I have deleted your first pic as it was well outside the forum allowed maximum of 600x800. Please resize it and repost it, thanks.

As far as the flywheel spinning I am taking it it spins on the shaft. So I would check and make sure the clutch nut is fuly tightening the flywheel on to the collet. It is possible your collet is worn too, but my guess would be the first.

I don't understand what your asking. What is it doin? Revving out of control?

Yeah its reving pout of control but not from start up just after its been running a few minutes. I have to turn the throttel control on my Remote all the way down just too keep the truck from driving off fast even at idol. It makes a serious hihg piched wine sound and you can see the whel spining. but not the clutch bell ect....

Thanks Scott

I would have to agree with NC on this one. It sounds to me that something is amiss with the clutch, or the clutchnut holding the flywheel on. I think NC hit it right on the head.

He said in him pm that the flywheel turns, but the cb does not which leads me to belive that the clutch shoes are in backwards.

Hey VB,

Could it also be that he may need to shim the clutchbell out a bit to make sure that it spins freely on its own? I don't know if I am even close, but I figured I would ask being as I have only done one clutch assembly myself. Thanks

Tom

The thing is, if it didn't spin freely the engine would not idle. Because the cb bearings are what allows the truck to sit at idle while the engine still runs if their is resistance it either tries to take off right away or will not run at all.

That's true.. I didn't think about that until after I posted. Thanks for the explination... I now understand things a bit more clearly now. Thanks VB!
