I've never programmed my flux via castle link, so last night I hooked my flux esc up to my brother's regular castle link and it worked! What is this hype about needing to buy a seperate HPI flux specific castle link. I'm calling BS on this one!

My brother then hooked his mamba monster up to the castle link and he got every option that my flux esc offered. Exactly the same, nothing different.

So, what's up with CC and HPI telling us we need a $30+ castle link for HPI products and a $20+ for all other CC products? Anyone own both that could tell me if they do anything different than the other?
 
I've always wondered why...that's why I've never purchased the HPI link. I now have a CC BEC for my crawler which takes the castle link. So I didn't want to have to purchase both links. Now that I know the HPI link is BS I'll just get the regular castle link and be done with it. Guess I should have tried this a long time ago...
