i pulled my first flips with my savage succesfully off a huge jump in my freinds yard. i got a couple of doubles in but has anybody had any problems with the stock shocks braking i broke a shock body and I've never seen anything like it the cap didnt blow off just a clean cut in the shock body pretty much
could it be a defective product or have i voided my warranty

Could be, but most likely the stock shock (which are weak) just couldn't hack what you dished out. You can try writing HPi about it.

Just curious, which one broke? The one closest to the exhaust header?

I've done the same thing. What happened is that you landed on the right rear quarter, the shock tower flexed, the header then snapped the shock body. Mine was pretty clean also, dented the header to boot.

i dont have a dont in the header i think also broke the front bumper support things. they stripped out of the screw they just popped off the screw that held them to the skid platte

Dude, that's hardcore. It's hard to tell, but the header probably broke the shock. That's not to say that that the shock wasn't defective.

all right thanks for the info itll be a good time to order some alumnium ones will 1/8 scale shocks work
also didi you know that one shock on that corner willl work just fine i found out and then broke something else

SkyMaxx runs aftermarket upper arm with 1/8th scale rear buggy shocks. Ya might ask him.

does any bodybknow if they will work with the stock upper control arms
how much are some good 1/8 scale rear buggy shocks

1/8 scale shocks do not work on the stock a-arm set up. They are shorter than the Savage shocks and will automatically lower the ride height about an inch, if you use them with the stock a-arm set-up.

In order to use 1/8 scale buggy shocks (rear buggy shocks are the ones that work the best) or T-Maxx style shocks, you need to get the New Era upper a-arms that will take the shock.

Here is a link to what I am talking about as far as a-arms:
