i have a new proline 5b body comming in and pondering a new "murdered out" look. i want to get a flat finish on some tribal work and am not wanting to paint the outside of the body to achieve that look. i was thinking that if i sanded down the inside will it get a "flat" look after coating it with black? i dont think so, but has anybody tried it? what about masking off desired areas and sanding down the outside of the lexan with 400 grit or so and coating the inside?

The only way I know of to get a flat paint effect is to paint the outside. I usually "scuff" the inside of the shell with a scratch pad before I paint. It doesn't give me a flat finish though.

sanding on the inside won't do anything. If you did some exterior masking and wet sanded with 400 I think you'll get a nice flat look.

yea just sanding the outside with some fine paper might do it

but still put the paint on the inside
