seems Saxton and Ace are developing a flat chassis for the TTR S3
by Titan TECH
it will cost 90.00 for a set with torquerods and other hardware included
because the original 3D chassis saw it's limits and is to rigid in some circumstances
" and we don't want to return in the same endless street
as with the S2 "..................

??? :deadhorse seemed to me, the TTR S3 was doing alright ??

it does do alright, but they discovered that at very blown out tracks like "the dirt" early this year, the chassis was so rigid it hindered performance. a more flexible chassis allows the car to twist and bite in more on rough tracks.

I knew this would happen
the moment I saw the first pictures of the S3
and also when an Italian driver made his own flat chassis in the beginning
to win an international race

That's the truth! This chassis is very rigid out of the box because of the backbone that is incorporated in it. Wonder how it will be like without the backbone. I have yet to drive mine so I really have nothing to compare it too.

Mine drives excellent, right up there with the best of them, in some cases, even better!

so it's for top drivers only
if you are satisfiet no need to change anything this drastic
I would say but then I saw this on Neo-buggy :

"A buddy of mine just got back from the RC pro series yesterday in Pleasant Hill Missouri. He didn't see one TTR with the tunnel chassis. Everyone had the flat chassis.
He also said that the ones he paid attention to were hooked up well even after the track started to deteriorate
.

I just got back from the South round 2 pro series race..and there were only 2 TTR's there running the flat chassis..Taylor James and Steve Hale..all other TTR's ran the delta box chassis..and were noticably more aggitated than the flat chassis's..

The chassis's are slightly longer..and move some of the weight around in different spots..making hte car retarded fast compared to the stockers in the rough conditions we ran in..the chassis is about 5-6mm thick..so still less flex than any other buggy..mainly weight redistribution..

I finished 2nd in Unlmt and 6th in buggy..track was hell on the stock chasis TTR's..gunna try some Kyosho shocks on my buggy...see if it helps with the bumps"
