I've checked that too. engine keeps getting stuck at TDC so it makes the pull start hard to pull anyway but when i do it doest return at all. its something to do with the pull start. when i loosen the cover on it it will spin back freely but when the cover is tightened again it gets stuck again...

i have also had this problem
i ended up ordering a new pull start and it should be here tomorow
but if you are using a new pull start then i dont know.

Is it possible that there is to much pressure on the pull start and it is causing it to get stuck??
U could try locktight on the bolts and just do it up firm SO THAT IT WILL RETRACT but doesn't slop on the engine??

just my :2cents:

are YOU stifling FREE speech?

:bowned:
mabey its time to charge up that ban stick again haha
i love people like this... they think they are all that and then all of a sudden... BAN and there gone haha

i think its best if i go to the shop because if it is the pull start i can get a replacement there and then, and if i take my receipt i might be able to say its faulty!!

i went to the LHS and they advised me on a few things so i went home and tried them and *snap* the pull start string snapped!!!
just my luck really, luckily i bought a spare gear set for my ez start so I've now fitted that. the setup i have now is the ez start motor without the glow igniter. instead I'm using a glow starter and I've custom made wiring for the motor so i can connect and disconnect a battery straight to the motor to turn over the engine.
also bought some fresh fuel cause mine is 3 years old. bit late to test it all now, especially as my battery isnt charged lol so all waits until test day tomorrow!!

I'm in need of serious help. surely after 5/6 tanks of fuel the engine should not be getting stuck at TDC still. the engine has already broke 1 ez start, broke 1 pull start and has nearly just burnt out my motor. i have just tried to start the truck again after a fully charged battery and ticked over very nicely but after 10 seconds cut out. after thinking it was running too lean i went to get a screwdriver to tune it a little but come to start it again the engine was having none of it. still its getting stuck TDC and wont turn over at all. no hydrolic lock I've checked glow plug, I've in fact checked everything. I'm now thinking a faulty engine and will be ringing picco tomorrow with a mouthful down the phone!! surely something can't be manufactured to a point where its breaking everything its designed to be used for!!
as you can probobally tell I'm very stressed with this thing so if anyone knows of anything that will help please feel free before i set my truck on fire!!

I've ordered it and they have broke its the damn engine thats breaking them all. theres either too much compression or the bore is too small for the piston?? I'm absolutely stumped!!

Or the engine just wasn't properly broken in. I don't think there is any such thing as too much compression. Wish I could give you better advice. Take the engine apart and work the piston up and down in the sleeve. You will find where it is hanging up--if that is indeed the problem.

Allright dude. Let me take a stab at this one. Reason it started in your house is because the temp change between outside and inside might only be 10 degrees, but it could mean alot in a nitro engine. They're ABC construction, therefore the different materials contract and expand with the temp change differently. Take it outside on a hot day or the same temp as inside when it started and try it again. Do what these guys said, loosed the gp, give it a few good pulls. If it's too cold outside and you do not have access to a heat gun, start your damn car, but the engine directly underneath the exhaust for a little bit of time. It will warm it up. I do it all the time when my are hard to start.

I've tried all this, I've heated it up with a hairdryer but piston is getting stuck still. if i take it apart (ie. take the head off) the piston gets stuck right at the top. i can knock it back down again but it dont half take some effort, i know it isnt properly broken in yet i can still see some copper on the bore! but i can't seem to get it started to break it in.
the last time i started it it seemed a bit lean. ticking over it was slowing trying to move forward, and as soon as i touched the throttle it cut out straight away. is this the LSN or the HSN??

Something isn't right. First, it's not copper, it's brass or bronze, then it's chrome plated. If the chrome plating is worn down to the brass already, something is VERY wrong. Put it all back together and call the manufacturer for a warranty replacement engine.

ah i see. sorry thought it was copper lol :S I've already phoned picco but because they are in italy they dont deal with warranty work, so ill have to go back to wheelspin model with a mouth full!! they have already told me to go straight to picco. ill get somwhere eventually!!
i wont try to start it anymore now lol
thanks for all the help guys!! looks like I'm out of fun now untill i can get it sorted!! dont fancy lending me your savage for a bit do ya rolex?? wouldnt get it dirty, honest!! haha!!

LMAO!! If YOU pay shipping and insurance both ways, and promise to dust, wax and repeat on a daily basis....... uh, no. :hehe:

You should be able to do it through the store where you got it, or through Email with Picco directly.

I'm composing an email to wheelspin now. I'm not happy with this i think i should get some free stuff haha.
sorry i dont do waxing and polishing trucks, just bashing!!! haha!

A huge plus one on that!!!

I do not know which is more disturbing, Ralph standing there in his Depends muttering to himself about dust while waxing the Savvy (which of course causes more dust so the whole thing is a vicious cycle) or an Englishman getting Ralph's Savvy dirty...

LMAO!! Hey, it's the Depends that I use for that final buff. Soft, absorbent and....uh.....oops....never mind. I knew I shouldn't have been buffing with the one I was just wearing.
