Here is mine a 60 gallon fresh water tank. I do not have the courage to go salt water even though I really want to.

Fish are 10 Giant Danio's, 1 each Blue Gourami, Gold Gourami, Platinum Gourami, Lavender Gourami, 2 Tiger Barb's, 1 Clown Loach, 1 Black Shark, and a plecostomus. also a full bubble wand on the back wall using a Fluval 650 filter along with at 250w heater. Nothing fancy I really want to upgrade the lights to LED along with a night light.

Nice set up. I thought about going marine (salt) but it's not the easiest tanks to maintain and the cost is a little more. One day. As soon as I upgrade to. 120 wide I might try going marine in the 75. But I'd have to get all the crap that goes with it, protein skimmer, is like a fluidized bed filter and all the salt and salt water test kits. One day. If I can get over my nitro addiction. I'm not allowed in hobby store or aquarium shop without my wife, lol she has to keep me under control or I buy one of everything lol.

Salt water is not hard. Most important thing is quality water from a ro/di unit. That's a nice freshwater setup bro, beamsworks led setup for around $50 shipped on eBay does great on a 4ft tank, I had them on my freshwater too.

Thanks bud, yeah that beamswork would have been a lot cheaper that's for sure. I paid through the teeth for the current led plus. With tax it was almost 300. But it does have some cool effects. Moon light mood and lightning strikes look cool. My wife just shook her head lol. I said but it comes with a 36 button remote Hun. Still didn't impress her lol. She does like the effects thought. She says my hobbies are a little on the expensive side ( she has a valid point) but she is usually quite supportive. I bought her.a e-revo so she can bash with me, trying to get her addicted to the rc part of my hobby lol. Then when I upgrade the e revo she might understand lol. I'm lucky I've got a wife that let's me get away with what I do. But I'm still not allowed in a hobby or aquarium shop alone lol. Which in the end is probably a good thing. Lol

Stupid heater shorted out on my freshwater over night and killers all but 5 of my fish, 3 arent doing well at all either. So sad, had some of those guys for ever.

You need to put a gfi on your tanks power input. That way if anything shorts out you don't get electrocuted or your fish. You can buy them in power bar form or the actual outlet for the wall. That way this will not happen. The ones for the wall outlet rant to pricey. I paid 40 for the power bar but that's just the way I have me tanks set up. Good luck and feel for you bud.

GFCI as well as the grounding plugs dont always work, as they didnt in this case. I think the heater must have had a hairline crack and just took time. GFCI is a good idea though of course.

Yeah that's what I meant in canada the call it groung faul interrupter. I hope mine never fail sin a case like that. Nona will
Be replacing my fish.

That's bad news. They didn't die from electrocution, did they? I'm guessing the heater failed and they got too hot or too cold. Electric would have killed all of them.

GFCI
Ground fault circuit interrupter.

The temp only went up 4 degrees, I just figured it was electrocution and some how some took it better. Unless it happend late last night, they good too hot then it failed and was able to cool down to 4 degrees above normal by this morning, very possible since the house stays about 54 all night. I found a baby ghost/glass cat fish too stuck to the glass, really suck, been waiting for them to hatch their eggs, sad way to go.

Man I feel bad for you. I screwed up when I went to the states for thanksgiving with my wife. Set up my auto feeder and didn't test the output. Let's just say the fish didn't go hungry. When're through a months feeding in 3 days. Did a 50 percent water change. Cleaned out my fx6 and put new purigen in it and new carbon. Also added a box of eheim bio beeds to top off the bio filter. Anyhow hope things will get better for you.

Ya We had to move and there is no room in the new house. BUT I found a good girl (so far) and we might get a house sometime in the future and I will set it back up or have a different tank.

Thats a great light for freshwater or fish only salt water. I loved mine. Only bad thing is it isnt seperate power supply's for each function so you have to manually switch between modes.

What do you mean? I see the switch will I have to change the plug each time I want to switch between the two? Is it possible to buy a second power supply for it?

No you will just have to use the switch to turn on just the whites or just the blue or both. Unfortunatly they dont make it seperate so you can't run seperate timers for each function. Not a big deal though. I'm just lazy and like having a timer on my lights for different times of day. I burned mine just like that up trying to ad another cord lol.

Ok I understand now. Thanks for the tip. I was looking at his ebay store and he has one that are timer ready but I did not see any timers for sale.

If its timer ready it should have 2 seperate power supplies, one for blues and one for white. Its just a matter of lazyness though lol. Any plug in timer from homedepot or harbor fright will work, preferably non digital. You can pick one up for $5 at harbor fright so it will turn on your lights every morning and off at night then you can manually switch to blues only if you want other wise leave both on and let the timer take care of it.
