hello,, well i ordered my first savage today got the xl can't wait to get it ,,now i can bury my piece of crap redcat tornado in the back yard and let it r.i.p.,, my only concern is that none of the lhs carry parts for it, and ill be stuck paying high shipping rates for parts like i did for the redcat,, but I'm pumped to get it,, can anyone tell me what the best fuel is to run in the xl ?? my lhs only carries o donnell 20% ?? thanks,, :

I use O Donnell, it's good fuel. Most people will probably recommend either O Donnell or Byron's, both are good fuels.

Hey dont worry about the lhs not carrying parts for it. Savages dont break that often they are really tough HPI puts a lot of quality into their models.

Get your parts on eBay, you can get most of them for cheaper than retail, with shipping included. Biggest piece of advice I can give you, is that RTR means Ready To Rebuild, not Ready To Race. Check all of the screws, seal the engine, and shim the diffs. Shimming the diffs is very important, if you don't you'll tear them up once you start jumping it.

hey thanks for the good advice!! yeah i learned the hard way on my first nitro not to rush things,, i plan to take my time and do things right this time ,, can't waite to bash ,, thanks to all !!!
