I decided to run the maxx today for the first time. The outside temps were a little lower than I prefer but I made a custom sock engine cozy that worked really well. I was able to keep it between 180-240, it was more on the 220-230 though. Took a tank to re-tune the .15 pro and I had to play with the idle. Then after the tune got better I had to reduce the shift point, it took me three tries, in total I probably turned it a half turn counter-clockwise. Seems good, might be a tad early. I think it will change some when I'm not running on ice and packed snow.

I gotta say this heavy truck seems to be going just as fast as my pede when it's WOT in 2nd gear. I'm real happy with it. and 4wd makes it go everywhere. Definitely very fun on snow but I know it's not very good for it. Keep in mind this is the first 4wd rig I have ever even seen, let alone drive. I cannot wait to put the 2.5R in there...Maybe I'll skip over the 2.5R, put that in the pede and get a 3.3 :D

What pipe are u using?

Right now I'm using a Nitro 4-tec tuned side pipe that is made for the .15 pro. It seems to be a good pipe. I never really got to see what the .15 pro could do before I put the 4-tec pipe on so I'm not sure of the difference between that and the stock one. It is supposed to increase low-mid power and I certainly have plenty of low end power.

I would love to breathe some life into this rig. I have been looking at the os .18 and .21 and the picco .26 max jl. One of those and a good pipe and I could imagine this truck would be unstoppable until I crashed it. Unfortunately I am in between jobs right now so a new powerplant is not in the near future. But remember I have a sealed and never ran 2.5R with the Maxxs name on it! That will breathe some life into it come spring time. What do you guys think? A higher revving small block or a torquey big block for the maxx? I am certainly doing a lot more off-road stuff than on road if that helps me get an answer.

Take in mind I'm not racing, ect. So I don't need a nova rossi or some $500 powerplant. Just looking for some power.

One last thing, I love the sound of the Maxx shifting into 2nd.
