ok so it's actually a half build because all it needs is the engine and engine components, and electronics. anyways iv'e just ordered th o.s. 18 cv-rx, flywheel, shoes, clutch bell (16T 32P), spur gear (66T 32P), fuel tank, and clutch nut. can't wait for all of it to get here. i still need header/pipe, probly an air filter, and electronics. i think it will be fun to build and after i get done i'll give my dad the one i run now for his b-day, wich is in april so i sould have plenty of time to finish and get all the kinks out of it, the hard part is him not finding out my plan. and i'm sure i'll need to get some info from ya'll and it will be greatly appriciated.

thanks in advance,
mud

imo the 16/66 combo is to low geared for the .18cv-rx. i have this mill on my rc10gt and it is next to impossible to keep the front tires down. I'm running 15/66 if you like wheelies then go for it. but the get old after a little while. maby grad another spur in like a 64 or 62 that should help a bit and there cheep plus you can never have enough backup spurs.

oh and keep an eye on the rear rim pin holes. invest in good rims, (rpm, proline ect.) i stripped a set of losi rims in under 2 tanks.

hav fun with it!! i know i do!!

hey thank for the gearing info beason. i was planning on getting some proline rims just dont know what ones yet. nitro, i'll see if tom has any or can get any.

thanks,
mud

With the rims, i found RPM to be the best, hands down. THS is a killer exhaust system, and imo, is worth the price. On the gearing, try going up to an 18t clutch bell, as i hear the .18 is a beast.

He would have to order them I'm certain. I'm probably going to be heading back to KC's again this coming weekend and I'll check today if they norm stock for ya. I'll pick 'em up next time I'm there if ya like......if not, you can get them from Tower....

You'll like that pipe a lot! I run one on my Savy and plan on getting one for my RC10GT in the near future. Really allows you to take advantage of the engine's full powerband.

finaly got my engine and parts today. . but just for a test fit (because the clutch screw is on back order) i tryed putting the flywheel on and it hits the carb before seting flush against the engine. what could i do besides buying another flywheel?

thanks,
mud

Did you put the collet on the shaft first? It looks like this:
Collet.webp

Sometimes, you may have to add shims behind the collet as well to get it to tighten up.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

well.......to be honest i aint got 1 of those, didn't even cross my mind when i was ordering. if Nitrobuzzard would be so kind to pick that up for me too on saturday i'd appricate it. lol. thanks Monkey Wrench.

The one you took off should of had one. Might want to check the package the new flywheel came in as well. Sometimes they come with one. You replacing it with a stock RC10GT flywheel?

If they don't come with the flywheel, they sometimes come with the engine. Check your engine packaging really thoroughly. There might be a collet in there.

ok i got my engine all put togeather (except for the exhaust) and mounted on to the chassis. but i have a question......does anybody make a wheelie bar for the gt? i know i could make 1 but dont know the best way to mount it on to the chassis or how long to make it.

thanks,
mud

I just got my RC10GT Team kit together and have to cut the shaft on my OS .15,and paint and trim up my body and I will get her running.I cannot wait, hope to have some pics of mine up here soon to ad to the RC10GT thread.I have to get all the pieces together to make sure the flywheel on my engine will line up and fit.It is a learning experience for me.
