firetruck bod... (finished)
this is body #4 trimmed and fitted to teh savage.. i have not even attempted to paint it yet, I'm still waiting on my HPI f-150 flareside body to test Bob Dively liquid mask on 1st, this one requires it due to the detail involed in it.
This thing is .50 thick.. this thing has to be 2x the thickenss of the stock svavage body, i actually used a x-acto knife to scar it then broke the lexan.. scissors was not happening..
the only flaw i see to the body is the fake hose on the back, the roll bar hit it.. i have not decided if i am goign to trim it to fit or leve it as u see in the pics...
custom paints.. I BLENDED THESE COLORS... u can buy the base paints, BUT you have to have the skill, time, extra lexan to make your own color.. teh biggest trick was finding a backign paint for it.. since it was candy color, and floucent, it was pretty much transparent, BUt being a green color black made it pine green, white makes it more lime green, ill take a pic of the scrap lexan, and i found a greyish yellow/green kept the shade i desired.. NOW you understand why this bod is takeing as long as it is? the color i wanted cannot be bought, if you see it in the sun it sparkles like a gold dimand, due to all the gold metalic in it.. pictures will not do this bod justice..
Now on to how i mixed this color an dth epaints an dcolors used... since it seems to intrege you..
the base paints
Bottle of pactrica candy blue
bottle of pactrica gold metal flake
Bottle of spaz stix Lemon Lime UV lexan paint.
basically the paint is 2/3 bottle of spax stix, 2 pipetts of candy blue, 4 pipetts of gold.. be careful on the blue.. to much and it turns aqua with no way to revert it back to green.. the paint you see i probally have 23$ in due to test and trial, and i got enough for small touch up, which will never look right if i tried..
Also those are with savage-central wheel adapters to fit the outback welds... 40 series with road rage..
