WTF?? I've had this Hitec 945MG for about a month and a half - single servo conversion - and today the ohfking thing caught on fire!! :flamer:

i had it running, just sitting there, and i was adjusting my HSN. all of a sudden, smoke started pouring out of the body. i thought the engine was touching some plastic, as i have been working on it, but nope.

:flamer:

hopefully hitec will replace it... or tower hobbies. this will not stand!! i can't even run this ohfking revo, I'm always working on it!! i dont mind it so much, but i would like some reward for all the labor that goes into it.

First off calm down, Hitec has a two year warranty on there servos. Just send it to them and they WILL take care of it. But I would definately use a different tone with them than what you used here. Second it's a traxxas product, get used to working on it, as you will most likely be doing just that after every time you run it. You might want to clean it too, or at least the air filter or you will be replacing the mill next, lol.

I would think Hitec would take care of it unless they find some sort neglect. You may not want to send a picture of it in the truck though, your truck is pretty dirty. No offense meant by that. I race my Revo every weekend and haven't had any problems except for the fuel tank o-ring going and causing me to overheat severely. Other than that the truck has been pretty solid.

didnt get wet. ahem... my revo is usually spotless, and i clean the air filter after everytime i run it. i took the pic as soon as i got back inside. I'm in atlanta GA atm, and its really dusty around here... not to mention this GA red clay sticks to stuff like glue. thank you for your concern with the cleanliness of my monstertruck, but i do believe this to not be the problem.

i'm glad to hear they will take care of it. i feel much better. it just struck me funny that a "dust and water resistant" servo would short out after 1 1/2 months... oh well. i'll see how well the next one holds up.

If i'm wrong let me know, but I take this as sarcasim.
I think they were trying to help you out.
They don't know your knowledge level in rc, or do they know how well you maintain your truck.
Dont be defensive when asking for help.
Thats what we are here to do. Help.
Again, if i'm wrong, let me know.

send it back to hitec I hear they have an awesome customer service.

ratzo... i appologize if that sounded bad. i was just asserting that i keep my clean, and that isnt the case for this particualar problem. i understand the concern... but i wasn't being sarcastic.

I'm happy to hear hitec has great customer support. puts my worried mind at ease. =)

Then I was wrong.
And I will say that with a smile.
I hope you get your problems worked out.
Hitec has great customer support.

It's so hard to tell sarcasm in the forums... Like here

I'm NOT being sarcastic

Or am I

Who knows?

I admitted my ass umtions were wrong.

no worries... i did come on strong. anyway. i locked my front diffs the other day, after i put a new ring gear in. would that put too much stress on my steering? i checked the servo saver to see if it was locked up... it wasn't. there was nothing stuck anywhere. so... locked diff? problem? /sigh.
