I got made at the way my mill was acting today in the savage, So i brokeit down completely and gonna biuld it from a kit for so to speak, I always feel better after I do this with my other RC's and usally i correct all probelms I find on the way. My question is for the differentials what weight silicon or whatever stuff should I put in there. there was not much grease in there at all (thanks HPI) any suggestions.

what are the advanteges or dissadvantages to going with higher or lower weight oils?

If you are going to be tearing into your diffs you might want to consider doing the diff mod. Here is a link. I put 5000 in the front and 3000 in the rear and I have been pretty happy with the results.

what gains have you noticed from this diff mod, how will it help me?

The benefits on doing this mod are improved strength of the differentials as well as enhanced steering, handling and overall performance of the diffs. And the parts are pretty cheap.

Yeah I am thinking about selling my savage, but iuntill then I think this will be a good mod that might help increase value a bit as well. Any suggestions for what weight oil I should use?

I did this mod a few weeks back and have noticed a huge difference. The truck just has better tracktion and climbs steep hills better.
