Hello all-

First time poster and i have a problem took apart my 2070 steering servo and put it back together and now every time i kick on the power the wheels turn all the way to one direction. No matter how or where i position the gears it seems it will not find center. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks BRC

hmm.. I'm not fully understanding this one. so you took the servo apart or just removed the servo? pull the servo horn, turn the radio on and center the stearing adjustment on the radio.. now center the wheels as bast you can and re-apply the srevo horn.., but if you took apart the servo to replace gears, you'll see the large gear on the top has a stopper on both sides, that should be close to the center, but i if i remember correctly, it kinda centers itself and i never had an issue with that gear not centering..

I heard something rattling in there so i popped off the top and some of the gears and pins went with it. The large gear in the has a stopper, could you elaborate on stopper? Not sure what exactly your talking about. I understand the point of a stopper but as far as what it might look like on that gear?

on the gear there is a pin. when it hits the end it feels the resistance and stops the motor(pic below).. that pin should be centered
its the pin on the silver gear that sticks up

no.. its a quarter scale servo, but they are built simular.. the 2070 is a traxxas servo. but they all still have that pin.

well i thgink i see the problem.. you'll never get it back together that way. you need to take the top case out of the chassis and remove the servo horn. they way your puting it back together, you'll never get the gears and pins to align. its like filling a glass while its upside down
pull it out, get it all back together and test it before you put it back in, you may have to adjust its center a few times to get it right, so DONT PUT IT BACK IN till you test it first

I think i see what you're saying pull it from the chassis, once pulled unbolt the horn and put the horn as close to perfect center as possible. I am gonna try that out here in a sec. Also i managed to get it all back together and close to center then i shortened the steering knuckle that fits inside the horn to match my close to center as possible and it seemed to work fine until i put it back on the ground. Acted like it didnt have enough strength to push and pull the wheels sitting on the ground. Was that just that i shortened the arm and it didnt have enough to push. Ahhhh thanks for helping though much appreciated.
