What do you guys think about the oil cooler cap being off of the 99 car? They say it helps with the downforce somehow.

yeah, that's what they say. I don't quite understand that but if they say it has an affect then I'm sure it does. At any rate, these teams need to be more cautious with stuff. You figure as much time and money that a team has in each car that they be going over it with a fine tooth comb.. obviously, either that's not the case, or some people are simply cheating. I can't imagine that these teams (especially the big ones with deep pockets) aren't hiring the absolute best people to build these cars. If there's that little attention to detail that somebody didn't fasten a cap well enough... well, I dunno. If I were in charge I'd be looking for new help.

No doubt my friend.

Well here we go guys.. getting ready to go racing!

man, this is horrible... I can't believe Jaime's this slow.. that's just rediculous.

I don't know if he is that slow... he had that pit road issue and he has not been able to recover from it. All of the cars are way loose!! I don't know what Jr did to his car... but damn it is sucking bad right now. I thought he had something for them today... guess not.

Tom

I dunno Tom.. he was bad slow in practice too. I don't know how the heck the 26 team qualified where they did. At any rate it's been a backslide since the green flag and there they are near, the tail end of the field.. pretty disappointing. Keepin' the faith though.. lot's of races left.

Ok, so on one hand I totally agree with Tony.. but you have to take into account that's it was pretty cold down there too for the season.

Then on the other hand I think it's interesting because so many people bitch and whine about how much Jeff Gordon bitches and whines... but listen to Stewart. How many times does he step out of his car and start making excuses to support the fact that he didn't win? EVERYTIME he does that crap its comes right off a top 10 finish... EVERY, SINGLE, TIME (at least it seems that way). Whatever, maybe I just see it like that because I don't care for him. But... that's why I don't care for him.

The cars looked like junk out there, even the leaders were sliding around.

Yes they were.. My opinion is... so who says the leaders have to have perfect cars at every race? It's just what people expect (drivers too aparantly as well). I like to see the tough conditions like that. It really shows who can both drive and setup/adjust. Kyle Busch is one hell of a racer though.. he was sideways 65% of that race. Tremendous job!

Ya know.... I don't know what to think.... on one hand... Tony is a 2 time champ and we should listen to him... but on the other hand.. there was not one tire failure all day. That has to say something. I don't know jack about racing tires and how they are made, but none of the drivers seem to be happy with them... Tony is just a bit more vocal I guess. They were all loose out there today, in some cases some cars were snappy loose. Jr wasn't happy with the tires either... he just wasn't as vocal about it. I guess we shall see what happens.

those COTs are really hard to spin. with how sideways i saw them coming off turn 4 today, the old ones would have been done. was an ok race today. i hated toyota winning though...

I personally thought it was a very boaring race to tell you the truth. There was not a whole lot of side by side racing or racing for the lead. As far as Toyota winning a race.... you knew it was going to happen eventually. It's over now and we can all get on with our lives. With the COT... except for a few decals and some valve covers, they are basically the same car. I think Toyota has a slight horsepower advantage and for now, Kyle Busch is the best on the track right now. As much as I can't stand him... he can wheel a race car.

i rented one of those fanviews. those are nice. i actually knew what was going on and i could see replays etc.

Alrighty then fellas... one of my favorite racetracks on the circuit. Blue and Yellow has been good to Jaime in the past.

GO :26-Jamie_McMurray: !

I tell ya.. Jr is leading alot of laps including leading the most today, but he has failed to lead the one that matters most. He hasn't won in almost 2 years. I thought today would have been the day. Maybe Richmond in May.

Tom

88 on the pole!!! Hopefully he can lead the most important lap this weekend. This is the track he got his first Cup win back in 2000. Almost 8 years ago exactly. Man if he could win this weekend.

That's pretty sweet bro. One of the guys at work was thinking the same thing earlier today. Texas has been good to Jr.

I know Jamie is having a rough year but I really expected a better qualify for him at Texas. Historically, it's a good track for him as well.

Hopefully we will both have something to celebrate after Sunday's race! Jamie is looking good in practice so far.

This will be the race that Jimmie Johnson get back on track.

My goodness... did you guys see that hit that Mcdowell took? The video is on Nascar.com... poop.. that's by far the worse one I've seen yet. Reutimann took a nasty hit last year but this is BAD BAD.
