I finally broke down and got a buggy. After spending several months building up a Savage, I went to the track where I saw some buggies run. Wow! 8-0 I just had to have one.

So here it is. My MBX-5:

The paint job is not exactly one of my most inspired pieces, but I would rather be bashing then painting. :radio: Plus I have a ton of this orange paint.

So far I have put the buggy thru hell. Learning to jump a buggy vs. a monster truck was cartwheel city. But I got the hang of it and broke zero parts. Sweet!

that's a bad ass ride. from the color of the head, I'd guess that's an RB engine of some sort? please say it's an s7.

welcome to rcnt

Thanks for the welcome RobH. :cheerful:
Yes, that is a RB engine. It is a C-5. That buggy is crazy fast compared to my Savage.

Tex

that's a sweet engine too. a couple of guys at our track run the c5 engine.

that setup must have drained the old bank account pretty good. do you have a local track to race it on?

Good choice. I love mine and I'm sure you will love yours as well.
The paint job looks good also. Keep us updated on how it holds up.

Nice looking buggy. However that looks way to clean. Go get it dirty. :) Good job on the paint job.

Thanks y'all.

Believe me I got that buggy filthy. These are my after assembly glam-shots.
You are so right RobH. My little slush fund that I hide from the wife :whip: took a major whoopin. If the wife found out how much I put into that buggy, she would hand me my jewels on a silver platter. :shhh:
For now I plan to run it on my friends' backyard track. At least until I learn to control this beast. Then it's off to the real track. :hehe:

Nice ride.
I just got my first buggy after being into nitro for 3-4 years. They are a totally different animal from what I can see.

Damn, Now we know what happened to RobH except at his house they use paper plates.

and those are the crime fighters, they run great on my track.

and Rob............ouch:whistle:

i was thinking about picking up some pre-mounted crime fighters on teh dish wheels ;) looks nice

FlyinRazorback will have some GREAT pointers for you on 'first-hopups'! Congrats on an AWESOME ride! I finally got to touch and feel one the other day.... I'm sooooo jealeous!

Congrats!

I will go anywhere between Tampa and fort Myers,, where can I get one? Anybody know the area well enough to tell me would be great, been looking for a 4wd buggy but will settle for 2wd if its decent! thanks!

Thanks again y'all.
I can't wait for the weekend. I need my nitro fix.

Tex

after you get nitro, the work week seems to get even longer. You can wait for the weekend, but seems to take so much longer than before.

you'll find the track is where the RC buggy hobby really shines. bashing around, you may think you know how to drive, but after you get on the track, you realize you don't. LOL

do you have any pics with the body off?

All right Rob. You asked for some pics of the MBX in the nude. Here they go:
