Hey Guys,

I finally finished the TC4. I had the chassis finished a week or so ago, but just got finished painting and trimming the body today. This is only the basher body. I have a CRT body that I need to get done. That will have to come later though. I have always wanted a Corvette, but can't afford that bill, so a model will have to do for now. My wife said the same thing. LOL At $77K for a new Z06 it will definitely be a while. It is a 200mm body, but it will do for a basher. Well here are a few pics. Take care guys.

Tom

looks awsome! can't wait to see some action shots of it zipping around a parkinglot.

Thanks my friend. I am running a Novak 4.5R BL with the GTB SC and it is insain fast. It is a rocket for sure. Learning to control it all is going to be the challenge! It is a blast though.

Looks like that body has headlight pods.. that's sweet. have fun with it!

Rolex, wouldn't want the forum to go more than a couple hours without it so...

WAAAA!

P.S. Where's the naked pics?

I guess you mean the boat graphics. I've spent the whole day setting up the new computer, so I'm still a slacker on that project. Soon, soon.

FastEddy needs help! Call a WAAAAAAAaaaaambulance.

Thanks Guys. I really like it. I have always had a thing for Corvette's.
Lessen, you are right.. it does have headlight pods. I thought it was a nice touch. I will take some pictures with the lid removed and post them here. Hopefully tonight.

Robmob, right now I have rubber on there just to mess around with. I have the same set of GRP foams that you are running for the track. I can't wait to get that thing on a road course. That 4.5R is insaine! So it won't be to long before I am breaking it up! Thanks for the jinx Ed!! LOL :)

Hey Guys,

Did you recieve 4 extra bearings in your TC4 kit? I have four extra bearings all of the same size. I looked over all the instructions to see if I am missing any but they are all there. I was just curious. Usually you get nothing extra in any kit.

Tom

There are bearings in the rack. Every where a bearing should be in the build is there. I am also trying to figure out how to adjust the right height... or at least the best way to do so. Thsi TC is really making me think.

Tom

Ride height can be adjusted using the droop screws and pre-load on the shocks.

I set the droop screws per the set-up shown in the manual. I then set ride height using the pre-load on the shocks.

I now run at 4mm on all 4 corners of the chassis. It works well for me on the parking lot where we race.

Be sure to have your batteries installed and tires that are the same diameter when setting ride height. If your using rubber tires, tire diameter should be the same. When using foams the tire diameter can vary greatly if you have been running them and have not trued them.

Thanks my friend. I will go home and give it a shot. I haven't put it on the setup station yet. I was too eager to get out and run it. I am not scraping to badly. If I get a stone under there though it is a whole other story. That this is so nimble... and full of power. I can kick the rear end around without any effort what-so-ever. I love this thing! I don't know how you keep it straight on those road courses. It is going to take a lot of practice.

Did you get any extra bearings in your kit?

I don’t recall any extra bearings.

Foams will give you a lot more control. I tried racing with 28 shore Sorex rubber for one race and will never do it again. I was very loose.

Definitely loose. Big time. I will put the foam on and see how it runs. Do your tires "Chunk"? I am eager to get out with a few other cars and see how I do. That thing is wicked fast and I can bet an impact with the boards is not a good thing. LOL

If you stay off the boards and keep from tangling with other cars, the foams won’t chunk until they wear down to the point you are close to the rims. If you do happen to chunk one and it isn’t that bad, it is best to have the chunked tire on the rear. A chunked foam will affect the steering if it is on the front.

If you run foams all the time, you will find that they will begin to cone the diameter of each will vary greatly. A tire truer would be a wise investment to extend the life of foam tires. Even with a truer, I am lucky to get 6 races out of a set of foams. This means that I have to spend $30 on foams after every 2 race days if every thing goes well. I am also running magenta foams that are about 30 or 35 shore. These are soft and wear quickly. Harder foams would obviously last longer and probably would not require as much time on a truer. The magenta's work for me and I don't want to mess with what works.

Great! Another tool to buy! LOL the wife is really going to like that. :)

I don't know how much racing I will be able to do, but I will probably end up with a truer. Thanks for the info.
