Christian... i got one of them also.. i bought the regular kit.. didnt get the Special 1.. and i tell you.. for the price.. i would highly reccommend the regularr kit.. with all the stuff it comes with.. ball bearing steering.. the only hopup i ahave done was aftermarket shock towers.. i will post pics and stuff of my car prolly tonight.. i dont have the body painted yet.. but i am very impressed with this car..

Yeah,
I would like to know if it comes with CVD's or dogbones?? I'm thinking about picking me up a 2nd buggy. Of course the 777 will be it. I'm seriously considering the one with the Sirio .21, been trying to get parts for my SuperMaxx from UE, but no luck. I hate the he only ships FedEx!! Woody out!!

if you get the one with the motor.. it will have universals all the way around.. if you get the standard kit.. it will have unis in the front, and dogbones in the center and rear..

Well,
Screw that! I want CVD's all the way around. How are they gonna come only in the front, but not the rear and center. I'm either gonna get the one with the engine, or the one right below that. The one that NitroMarine got. Well, let me start rustling up some money.

Woody

Ok, there seems to be some confusion on the 777 kits. Here it is:
Standard Kit (like your basic mp7.5) About $420 US
Special Edition 1 w/out motor (like your Kaniai editon) $580
Special Editon 1 with motor (same as above but with the .21 kanai motor) $800

The special edition 1 w/out motor that I have comes with:
1. 4mm chasis milled for the engine and center diff
2. Aluminum upgrades like the wing stay posts, radio posts, antenna mount
3. All CVD's for front, center, and rear.
4. Front and rear shock tower braces
5. Kyosho special vented brake discs
6. Kyosho large capacity fuel filter and fuel line
7. 4mm Longer teflon coated shocks
8. Front and rear arm stabilizers
9. No tires but the new style rims (puke yellow)
10. New designed body (fits the change is steering arm location)
11. Steering linkage is on the outside vice the inside on the Kanai's
12. Center fuel guard to keep fuel from spalshing on the brakes.
13. Front TCD, standard center and rear diffs with recommended oils.
14. Front hub carries have a dirt protection guard for the CVD's
15. Aluminum annodized heat sink engine mounts
16. Aluminum 3 shoe clutch.
17. Upper and Lower arms are slightly different in design.

Hopefully this helps.

Dgrobe2112, I am not sure where you get the extra $250 from. I did buy mine over here in Japan so the pricing may be a little different but I think the extra $$$ is worth it just considering having to buy the upgrades seperate can get expensive. Either way, the new 777 is a great buggy. Let us know what the standard 777 kit comes with and maybe we can figure out the differences. BTW, what did you pay for yours in the US?

Here are some top view picts attached.

here is the differences between the kit and the SP1.. from the Kyosho website..

Hard alumite main chassis (not needed for performance)
The gear (LSD) it equips on the front (use the standard anyway)
Universal center shaft (nice to have, and i will prolly get them when they are on ebay)
High intensity F/R damper stay (using www.kingheadz.com shock towers anyay)
SP brake disk (using cradock brakes)
Adjustable tie rod (got a full stainless set for the car for less than 15 bux)
SP hard upper rod (F/R) (stainless)
Adjustable S/T rod (stainless)
SPL antenna holder II (not needed "bling")
Teflon resin cutting damper piston (can get those at the hobby shop for cheap, and will do)
Lightweight spur gear (nice to have, prolly do it later)
Heat sink fin equipment high accuracy aluminum cutting alumite processing SP engine mount (not needed for performance)
High accuracy aluminum cutting mechanic POS (aluminum radio tray post.. just bling)
High accuracy aluminum cutting wing stay (same as before.. just bling)
It is low the friction finishing damper case (special shock body, can get those on ebay for cheap)
the price at RCmushroom.com is 685 for the special, and 420 for the standard

I see the difference in price.. yes.. however.. the parts that are really needed.. not really.. universals for the rear.. 25 bux.. center.. 30-35 bux.. i do see the difference.. but rather that spend the 265 extra for the SP1, i would save that 265, get the standard, and spend that 265 on parts that are needed.. for mine.. and prolly get a better kit.. personally.. however..t hat SP1 sure is nice.. :)

This is your post up there...

The special edition 1 w/out motor that I have comes with:
1. 4mm chasis milled for the engine and center diff (my car has this, just not anodized)
2. Aluminum upgrades like the wing stay posts, radio posts, antenna mount (just bling)
3. All CVD's for front, center, and rear. (mine has dogbones center and rear)
4. Front and rear shock tower braces (mine has kingheadz shock towers now)
5. Kyosho special vented brake discs (cradock brakes 10 bux)
6. Kyosho large capacity fuel filter and fuel line (mine has the same filter and fuel line)
7. 4mm Longer teflon coated shocks (mine are not teflon coated.. will prolly upgrade to these.. shock bodies.. full set.. 30 bux)
8. Front and rear arm stabilizers (i am assuming these are sway bars, mine has them too)
9. No tires but the new style rims (puke yellow) (mine came with tires and rims in white)
10. New designed body (fits the change is steering arm location) (got that too)
11. Steering linkage is on the outside vice the inside on the Kanai's (mine has that too)
12. Center fuel guard to keep fuel from spalshing on the brakes. (mine has that too)
13. Front TCD, standard center and rear diffs with recommended oils. (came with standard in front)
14. Front hub carries have a dirt protection guard for the CVD's (mine has 22's only.. SP! comes with 20, and 22)
15. Aluminum annodized heat sink engine mounts (regular mounts in mine, no big deal)
16. Aluminum 3 shoe clutch. (mine has this too)
17. Upper and Lower arms are slightly different in design. (so are the ones in the regular kit)

Those things are sick! Hey NitroMarine, you say it has an aluminum wing stay? Is that the same as a wing mount? In the first set of pics it looks plastic, but in the second set of pics it look aluminum. Any way we can get a good pic of that. If in fact it is the part I'm thinking of, then it would be the first buggy that has it in aluminum, and I'll have to figure out a way to get one.

the wing stays.. are the spreaders.. the little post that go between the big wing mounts.. you know.. the pieces that go from the car.. up to the wing.. are plastic.. but the pieces between are aluminum..

wing mount |
wing stay -'

so here is the wing.. |-|
wing stay is aluminum.. wing moutn is plastic..

Oh, I guess I didn't know the proper terms. Thanks 2112.

Why do you supose they don't make the wing mount aluminum? Maybe afraid the shock of landing on it would bend the shock tower, or screw up the diff case?

because the wing takes the most hits when a car flips.. and it would be mroe expensive to replace a bent aluminum wing mount.. the plastic will flex.. and give some.. and may break.. if it does.. lot cheaper than replacing an aluminum wing mount.. also.. weight I'm sure..

Definately. They could make an aluminum wing pretty light but it would just get crushed. The wings take a lot of hits.

yeah.. but the SP1 has aluminum wing supports.. that go inbetween the big wing mounts.. the regular dont.. also.. the sp1 has aluminum radio tray post.. that mount the radio tray.. and the regular has the plastic ones.. no big deal to me.. i didnt have aluminum on my other buggy..

Yes, a lot of buggies use aluminum posts for the radio tray and between the two wing mounts. It helps stiffen things up a little. It seems like the general rule is, the more stiff the chassis the better. With the wing, the metal support ports will help keep the thing from wobbling around when you're flying down the straight or around a corner.
